What does it look like? What can it do? Then look at some pictures of robots and answer: What do they look like? What can they do?In order to arouse students interests. Enjoy the video and some pictures and answer these questions.Step 2Pre-reading:1. Look at the title of the passage and a picture, then predict what the passage is mainly about.2. Put some words we have met in a box, ask students to write down the words you think you will read in the passage. Students predict the main idea and the words they think they will read.Step 3Fast Reading:1. Ask students read the passage quickly with the question: Will people have more work to do in the future? Why or why not?2. Ask students to underline the words in the box.Students read the passage quickly and find the supporting sentence of the question, underline the given words and see how many words they predicted right.Step 4Careful Reading:1. Answer the following questions: How many kinds of robots are talked about in the passage?What do they look like? What can they do? 2. Read the passage and tell T or F1) The robots help people do the most pleasant jobs. ( )2) Robots in Japanese companies can walk and dance. ( )3) Mr. White thinks a robot will be able to get up like a child. ( )4) Robots will never get bored to do simple jobs over and over. ( )5) Space rockets seemed possible a hundred years ago. ( )1.
