5、hool things).The design of the blackboard: Teaching Procedures:I. Talk about their holidays It is important to create a friendly atmosphere from the beginning so that the pupils feel at ease.II. Review the words.Using the flashcards review the words: numbers, colours ect.III. Learning new words.(1)
6、Using flashing cards and teaching them the words about school things.(2) Introduce the new vocabulary used in this unit: Pencil case, pen, pencil, book, schoolbag.(3) Read them one by one, and most of the students can read them.(4) However, the teacher must always bear in mind that as was said in Un
7、it 3, Exercise 5, pupils do not all memorise vocabulary in a visual way. Below are some useful exercises, linked to aural and kinaesthetic memorisation:-Put one object at a time into a big bag. Ask the pupils to guess which object it is by touching it but not looking at it.-Stand at the back of the
8、classroom so that the pupils cannot see me. Then make noises using the object indicated. For example, open and close the zip on the pencil case, put on and take off the top of a pen, flick through the pages of a book, The pupils have to listen and guess what the object is.-The teacher mimes the obje
9、ct and later asks one of the pupils to do it.-When the pupils are familiar with the meanings of the new words, ask them to close their eyes and imagine the objects, which the teacher should say one by one.(5) The teacher should then mouth the words without making any sound. The pupils should try to
10、understand the word by reading the teachers lips. Then they should repeat it out loud.IV. Listen and colour.(1) Make sure that all the pupils have the following colours to hand: orange, yellow, pink, red, green, blue and that they remember how to say them in English.(2) Ask the class to colour Tobys
11、 things according to the instructions on the cassette. (3) They dont have to colour in the whole object, but only mark it with the correct colour. (4) They can finish colouring in the objects later.(5) Check the exercise by asking What colours Tobys schoolbag? V. Colour. Play the game.(1) This is an
12、 activity which should be done in pairs. There are two identical drawings in black and white on the page. (2) In their own books, one pupils should colour drawing A and the other drawing B, using colours of their own choice. Then pupils A asks pupil B What colours your pencil? What colour are your p
13、ens?(3) While pupil B is answering, pupil A should colour drawing B according to the answers given by pupil B. When pupil A has finished asking the questions, it is pupil Bs turn to ask pupils A the same questions and colour drawing A, according to the information received. When both pupils have fin

17、 card. (3) After the game of Bingo, play the cassette/CD. The pupils should listen and discover the colours of the things that belong to Pit and Pat. Then they have to put the stickers on the picture on page 39.(4) In order to consolidate this activity, the pupils can interview each other. The inter
18、view should be done with other objects. The interview should be done with other pupils too, using both Pit and Pat. III. Give students the instructions.(1) Ask the pupils to put the things they have in their schoolbags on the desk and tell them to open their pencil cases. There should be some books,
19、 an open pencil case, some pens and some pencils on the desk.(2) Tell the pupils to stand up beside their desks and give them the following instructions:Open your schoolbags.Put in your books.Open your pencil cases.Put in your pencils.Put in your pens.(3) The pupils should listen and follow the inst
20、ructions. (4) Finally, the teacher should say See you tomorrow. Bye-bye. Encourage pupils to reply Bye-bye. I V. Listen and point. Say the chant.(1) Ask the class to look at the pictures on page 41.(2) Listen to the chant. The first few times they listen, they have to point to the relevant pictures
