For many Brits, it seems tea wraps them in the memories of childhood and home, and a cup of

If a friend has broken up with his girlfriend, lost his job, failed his driving test, or simply wants to chat about his day, its time to “put the kettle on”. There may be some lengthy traveling the football teams will have to deal with, as the distance between the most northern stadium (in Edmonton, Canada) and the most south

The Internet provides unlimited information at the touch of a finger. However, it is not always delightful.
17、I was distracted when at work or with family and friends, constantly feeling tired and annoyed. I had always loved books, but I couldnt read any. I tried, but every time, by sentence three or four, I was either checking e-mail or asleep. I started to wonder: could reading books again help me out of

19、ies per hour. Focused reading for an hour will use up around 42 calories. But processing lots of new information takes around 65 calories per hour. And jumping from topic to topic is worse. So every time you pop out of your work to read an email, it costs you more than time, but energy too. A scient
20、ist once said, “People who organize their time in a way that allows them to focus are not only going to get more done, but they will be less tired after doing it.” So, Ive used “reading books again” as the focus of my effortsto get away from the flow of digital information and reconnect with that sl
21、ower kind of information, the kind I used to get so much pleasure from. Once I get home from work, I put away my laptop (and iPhone). No shining screens are allowed in bedrooms (except Kindles). Whenever I have some time, I read books. Reading books again has given me more time to think, and has inc
22、reased my creativity to solve work problems. The flow of digital information is fast. We should prevent ourselves from being driven away and drowning. Reading books again will help. 8. Before this discovery, there were only a few stories of animals treating one another. More common cases are animals treating their
28、 own wounds. As the study shows, 80 percent of the wounded ants died within 24 hours if left alone. But if nursed by healthy ants for even an hour, only 10 percent died. Interestingly, 80 percent survived without treatment if kept in a completely clean environment. So researchers guess that infectio
29、ns(感染)are the cause of death and this “l(fā)icking” behavior may help prevent infection. The African Matabele ants are even willing to sacrifice themselves, researchers noticed. The ants that were badly injured, too far gone to save, refused to co-operate with their helpers. When the healthy ants got cl
30、ose to them, they waved their legs around forcing their helpers to abandon them. There is a lot left to learn about why, when and how social insects may try to rescue one another. This is what researchers are looking into now. They want to know if other ants have similar behaviors. They also plan to
