TheSupplementalRestraintSystemsuchas“AIRBAG”and“SEATBELTPRE-TENSIONER”usedalongwithaseatbelt,helpstoFEreducetheriskorseverityofinjurytothedriverandfrontpassen-gerforcertaintypesofcollision.TheSRSsystemcompositionwhichisavailabletoINFINITIQX4isasfollows: ForafrontalTheSupplementalRestraintSystemconsistsofdriverairbagmodule(locatedinthecenterofthesteeringwheel),frontpas-TFsengerairbagmodule(locatedontheinstrumentpanelonpassengerside),seatbeltpre-tensioners,adiagnosisunit,warninglamp,wiringharnessandspiral ForasideTheSupplementalRestraintSystemconsistsofsideairbagmodule(locatedintheoutersideoffrontseat),salitesensor,diagnosissensorunit(oneofcomponentsofairbagsforafrontalcollision),wiringharness,warninglamp(oneofcompo-nentsofairbagsforafrontalcollision).InformationnecessarytoservicethesystemsafelyisincludedtheRSsectionofthisService ToavoidrenderingtheSRSinoperative,whichcouldincreasetheriskofalinjuryordeathintheeventSTofacollisionwhichwouldresultinairbaginflation,allmaintenancemustbeperformedbyanauthorizedINFINITI Impropermaintenance,includingincorrectremovalinstallationoftheSRS,canleadtoalinjurycausedbyunintentionalactivationofthesystem.ForremovalofSpiralCableandAirBagModule,seetheRSsection.DonotuseelectricaltestequipmentonanycircuitrelatedtotheSRSunlessinstructedtointhisServiceManual.Spiralcableandwiringharnessescoveredwithyellowinsulationt eitherjustbeforetheharnessconnectorsSCorforthecompleteharnessarerelatedtothePRECAUTIONSFORIVIS(INFINITIVEHICLEIMMOBILIZERSYSTEM—NATS)

IVIS(NATS)willimmobilizetheengineifsomeonetriestostartitwithouttheregisteredkeyofIVIS(NATS).BothoftheoriginallydignitionkeyIDshavebeenIVIS(NATS)registered.

Thesecurityindicatorislocatedontheinstrumentpanel.Theindi-catorblinkswhentheignitionswitchisinOFForACCposition.Therefore,IVIS(NATS)warnsoutsidersthatthevehicleisequippedwiththeanti-theftsystem.WhenIVIS(NATS)detectstrouble,thesecurityindicatorlamplightsupwhileignitionswitchisinONposition.Thislightingupindicatesthattheanti-theftisnotfunctioning,sopromptserviceisrequired.WhenservicingIVIS(NATS)(troublediagnoses,systeminitial-izationandadditionalregistrationofotherIVIS(NATS)ignitionsoftwareisnecessary.RegardingtheproceduresofIVIS(NATS)initializationandIVIS(NATS)ignitionkeyIDregistration,refertoCONSULT-IIoperationmanual,IVIS/NVIS.Therefore,CONSULT-IIIVIS(NATS)software(programcardandoperationmanual)mustbekeptstrictlytomaintaintheintegrityoftheanti-theftfunction.WhenservicingIVIS(NATS)(troublediagnoses,systeminitial-izationandadditionalregistrationofotherIVIS(NATS)ignitionkeyIDs),itmaybenecessarytore-registeroriginalkeyiden-tification.Therefore,besuretoreceiveallkeysfromvehicleAumoffivekeyIDscanberegisteredintoIVISWhenfailingtostarttheenginetimeusingthekeyofIVIS(NATS)(forexample,wheninterferenceiscausedbyanotherIVIS(NATS)key,anautomatedfullroaddeviceorautomatedpaymentdeviceonthekeyring),restartasfollows.LeavetheignitionswitchinONpositionforapproximay5TurnignitionswitchtoOFForLOCKpositionandwaitapproxi-may5seconds.Repeatstep1andRestarttheenginewhileholdingthedevice(whiayhavecausedtheinterference)separatefromtheregisteredNATSkey.Ifthenostartconditionre-occurs,NISSAN placingtheregisteredIVIS(NATS)keyonaseparatekeyringtoavoidinterferencefromotherdevices.PRECAUTIONSFORINFINITICOMMUNICATORThepurposeofINFINITICommunicatoristoincreasesecurityforthevehicleownerbyprovidingaconvenientwaytocontactthemostappropriateemergencyassistanceproviderduringanemer-Improperoperationofthesystemmayresultinaresponse.ThetheftwarningsystemalsoactivatesINFINITICommunicator.Fordetails,refertoINFINITICommunicator(IVCS)intheELsec-極限汽車專業(yè)維修資料中 8r6ib.(oont’d)GENERALDonotoperatetheengineforanextendedperiodoftimewithoutproperexhaustventilation.Keeptheworkareawellventilatedandfreeofanyinflammablematerials.Specialcareshouldbetakenwhenhandlinganyinflammableorpoisonousmaterials,suchasgasoline,refrig-erantgas,etc.Whenworkinginapitorotherenclosedarea,besuretoproperlyventilatetheareabeforeworkingwithhaz-ardousmaterials.DonotsmokewhileworkingontheBeforejackingupthevehicle,applywheelchocksorothertireblockstothewheelstopreventthevehiclefrommoving.Afterjackingupthevehicle,supportthevehicleweightwithsafetystandsatthepointsdesignatedforproperliftingbeforework-ingonthevehicle.TheseoperationsshouldbedoneonalevelWhenremovingaheavycomponentsuchastheengineortransaxle/transmission,becarefulnottoloseyourbalanceanddropit.Also,donotallowittostrikeadjacentparts,especiallythebraketubesandmastercylinder.Beforestartingrepairswhichdonotrequirebatterypower:Turnoffignitionswitch.DisconnectthenegativebatteryTopreventseriousAvoidcontactwithhotmetalDonotremovetheradiatorcapwhentheengineisBeforeservicingthe

ldisassembledpartsinthedesignatedliquidorsolventpriortoinspectionorassembly.Replaceoilseals,gaskets,packings,O-rings,lockingwashers,cotterpins,self-lockingnuts,etc.withnewones.Replaceinnerandouterracesoft redrollerbearingsandneedlebearingsasaset.Arrangethedisassembledpartsinaccordancewiththeirassembledlocationsandsequence.Donottouchtheterminalsofelectricalcomponentswhichuseputers(suchasECMs).StaticelectricitymaydamageinternalelectronicAfterdisconnectingvacuumorairhoses,attachatagtoindi-catetheproperconnection.UseonlythefluidsandlubricantsspecifiedinthisUseapprovedbondingagent,sealantsortheirequivalentswhenrequired.Usetoolsand mendedspecialtoolswherespecifiedforsafeandefficientservicerepairs.Whenrepairingthefuel,oil,water,vacuumorexhaustsystems,checkallaffectedlinesforleaks.Disposeofdrainelorthesolventusedforcleaningpartsinanappropriatemanner.TopreventECMfromstoringthediagnostictroublecodes,donotcarelesslydisconnecttheharnessconnectorswhicharerelatedtotheenginecontrolsystemandTCM(TransmissionControlModule)system.Theconnectorsshouldbediscon-nectedonlywhenworkingaccordingtotheWORKFLOWofTROUBLEDIAGNOSESinECandATsections.PRECAUTIONSFORMULTIPORTFUELINJECTIONSYSTEMORENGINECONTROLSYSTEMBeforeconnectingordisconnectinganyharnessconnectorthemultiportfuelinjectionsystemorECM(EngineControlTurnignitionswitchtoOFFposition.Disconnectnegativebatteryterminal.Otherwise,theremaybedamagetoECM.Beforedisconnectingpressurizedfuellinefromfuelpumptoinjectors,besuretoreleasefuelpressure.BecarefulnottojarcomponentssuchasECMandmassairflowsensor.PRECAUTIONSFORTHREEWAYIfalargeamountofunburnedfuelflowsintothecatalyst,thecata-lysttemperaturewillbeexcessivelyhigh.Topreventthis,followtheinstructionsbelow:Useunleadedgasolineonly.Leadedgasolinewillseriouslydamagethethreewaycatalyst.Whencheckingforignitionsparkormeasuringenginecompression,maketestsquicklyandonlywhennecessary.Donotrunenginewhenthefuellevelislow,otherwisetheenginemaymisfirecausingdamagetothecatalyst.極限汽車專業(yè)維修資料中 8r6ib.(oont’d)Donotplacethevehicleonflammablematerial.Keepflammablematerialofftheexhaustpipeandthethreewaycatalyst.PRECAUTIONSFORHoseRemovaland

Topreventdamagetorubberhose,donotpryoffrubberwith redtoolorToreinstalltherubberhosesecurely,makesureofhoseinser-tionlengthandclamporientation.(Iftubeisequippedwithhosestopper,insertrubberhoseintotubeuntilitbuttsupagainsthosestopper.)HoseIfoldrubberhoseisre-used,installhoseclampinitsoriginalposition(attheindentationwheretheoldclampwas).Ifthereisatraceoftubebulgingleftontheoldrubberhose,alignrubberhoseatthatposition.Discardoldclamps;replacewithnewAfterinstallingleafspringclamps,applyforcetotheminthedirectionofthearrow,tighteningrubberhoseequallyall

PRECAUTIONSFORENGINE

Prolongedandrepeatedcontactwithusedengineoilmaycauseskincancer.Trytoavoiddirectskincontactwithusel.Ifskincontactismade,washthoroughlywithsoaporhandcleanerassoonaspossible.HealthProtectionAvoidprolongedandrepeatedcontactwithoils,particularlyusedengineoils.Wearprotectiveclothing,includingimperviousgloveswhereDonotputoilyragsinAvoidcontaminatingclothes,particularlyunderpants,withHeavilysoiledclothingandoil-impregnatedfootwearshouldnotbeworn.Overallsmustbecleanedregularly.Aidtreatmentshouldbeobtainedimmediayforopencutsandwounds.Usebarriercreams,applyingthembeforeeachworkperiod,tohelptheremovalofoilfromtheskin.Washwithsoapandwatertoensurealloilisremoved(skincleansersandnailbrusheswillhelp).Preparationscontaininglanolinreplacethenaturalskinoilswhichhavebeenremoved.Donotusegasoline,kerosine,dieselfuel,gasoil,thinnersorsolventsforcleaningskin.Ifskindisordersdevelop,obtainmedicaladvicewithoutWherepracticable,degreasecomponentspriortoWherethereisariskofeyecontact,eyeprotectionshouldbeworn,forexample,chemicalgogglesorfaceshields;inaddi-tionaneyewashfacilityshouldbeprovided.EnvironmentalProtectionBurningusedengineoilinsmallspaceheatersorboilerscanbemendedonlyforunitsofapproveddesign.TheheatingtemmustmeettherequirementsofHMInspectorateofPollutionforsmallburnersoflessthan0.4MW.Ifindoubtcheckwiththeappropriatelocalauthorityand/ormanufactureroftheapprovedDisposeofuselanduselfiltersthroughauthorizedwastedisposalcontractorstolicensedwastedisposalsites,ortothewasteoilreclamationtrade.Ifindoubt,contactthelocalauthorityforadviceondisposalfacilities.Itisillegaltopouruselontotheground,downsewersordrains,orintowatercourses.TheregulationsconcerningpollutionvarybetweenPRECAUTIONSFORUseunleadedgasolinewithanoctaneratingofatleast87AKI(Anti-KnockIndex)number(researchoctanenumber91).Donotuseleadedgasoline.Usingleadedgasolinewilldam-agethethreewaycatalyst.Usingafuelotherthanthatspecifiedcouldadverselyaffecttheemissioncontroldevicesandsystems,andcouldalsoaffectthewarrantycoveragevalidity.PRECAUTIONSFORAIRUseanapprovedrefrigerantrecoveryunitanytimetheaircondi-tioningsystemmustbedischarged.RefertoHA-144,“HFC-134a(R-134a)ServiceProcedure”forspecificinstructions.極限汽車專業(yè)維修資料中
