第四學(xué)時Grammar-ing分詞作定語,賓語補(bǔ)足語和表語的用法1、-ing分詞作表語-ing分詞作表語時放在系動詞之后,用來泛指某種動作或行為,以說明主語的身份、性質(zhì)或情況。Herhobbyispainting.她的業(yè)余愛好是畫畫。Myjobislookingafterthechildren.我的工作就是照顧這些孩子。Hisconcernforhismotherismosttouching.他對母親的關(guān)愛很感人。2、-ing分詞作定語1.單個的-ing分詞作定語位于被修飾名詞的前面,既可以表示被修飾者的作用或功能,也可以表示被修飾者的動作、狀態(tài)或性質(zhì)。
buildingmaterials=materialsforbuilding建筑材料drinkingwater=waterfordrinking飲用水tiringmusic=musicthatistiring煩人的音樂asurprisingresult=aresultthatissurprising一個驚人的結(jié)果2.-ing分詞短語作定語時,放在所修飾的名詞之后,并且在意思上相當(dāng)于一個定語從句。Theyliveinaroomfacingthestreet.=Theyliveinaroomthatfacesthestreet.他們住在一間面朝街的房子里。3.-ing分詞短語也可以用作非限制定語,相當(dāng)于一個非限制性定語從句,這時,它與句子其他部分用逗號分開。Hisbrother,workingasateacher,livesinBeijing.=Hisbrother,whoisworkingasateacher,livesinBeijing.他那個當(dāng)教師的哥哥住在北京。Theappletree,swayinggentlyinthebreeze,hadagoodcropoffruit.=Theappletree,whichwasswayinggentlyinthebreeze,hadagoodcropoffruit.那棵蘋果樹碩果累累,在微風(fēng)中輕輕搖曳。3、-ing分詞作賓語補(bǔ)足語1.動詞-ing形式作賓語補(bǔ)足語放在賓語后面,表示一個正在進(jìn)行的主動性的動作,強(qiáng)調(diào)一個過程或一種狀態(tài)。Whenwereturnedtotheschool,wefoundastrangerstandingattheentrance.當(dāng)我們回到學(xué)校時,發(fā)現(xiàn)一個陌生人站在大門口。Wefoundthesnakeeatingtheeggs.我們發(fā)現(xiàn)蛇正在吃雞蛋。2.當(dāng)句子轉(zhuǎn)換為被動結(jié)構(gòu)時,原來作賓語補(bǔ)足語的動詞-ing形式便轉(zhuǎn)換為主語補(bǔ)足語。Theyfoundtheresultverysatisfying(賓補(bǔ)).=Theresultisfoundverysatisfying(主補(bǔ)).這個結(jié)果很令人滿意。Theyheardhimsinginginthenextroom.=Hewasheardsinginginthenextroom.有人聽到他在隔壁房間唱歌。3.能用-ing形式作賓語補(bǔ)足語的幾類動詞:①表示感覺和心理狀態(tài)的動詞,常見的有see,hear,feel,smell,find,notice,observe,lookat,listento等。Ifeltsomebodypattingmeontheshoulder.我覺得有人在拍我的肩膀。Ididn'tnoticehimwaiting.我沒有注意到他在等候。②表示使役意義的動詞,常見的有have,set,keep,get,catch,leave等。Iwon'thaveyoudoingthat.我不會讓你做那件事情的。Thissetmethinking.這使我陷入了沉思。I'msorrytohavekeptyouwaiting.很對不起,我讓你久等了。Ican'tgettheclockgoingagain.我不能讓這個鐘又走起來。Youwon'tcatchmedoingthatagain.你看吧,我決不會做那種事了。典例剖析非謂語動詞是語法填空中的必考考點(diǎn)。解題時,當(dāng)句中已有謂語動詞時,括號中所給動詞即為非謂語動詞,然后根據(jù)其在句中所作句子成分、某些詞語或句式的搭配要求、與邏輯主語的主動或被動關(guān)系等,確定用具體的形式。如:1.Lessons____(learn)insportscanhelpusinourdealingwithotherpeople.解析:learned。
因句中已有謂語canhelp,可見learn為非謂語動詞;由句子結(jié)構(gòu)可知非謂語動詞短語應(yīng)當(dāng)是作主語Lessons的定語;因Lessons與learn是被動關(guān)系,故用-ed形式learned。2.Whileshewasgettingme____(settle)intoatinybutcleanroom...解析:settled。
因句中已有謂語wasgetting,所以settle為非謂語動詞;由句中結(jié)構(gòu)可知,此非謂語動詞作賓補(bǔ);根據(jù)o...,可見me與settle是被動關(guān)系;故用-ed形式,即用settled作賓補(bǔ)。一、單項(xiàng)填空1.John'sbadhabitis________withoutthoroughunderstanding.A.read
