課程基本信息學科英語年級高二學期春季課題Unit2BridgingCulturesAssessingYourProgress教科書書名:普通高中教科書英語選擇性必修二教材出版社:人民教育出版社教學目標Attheendoftheclass,studentswillbeableto1.consolidateandcheckthevocabularythattheyhavelearntinthisunitbyvariousexercises..2.consolidatetheusageofnounclausesbypresentationandpractices.3.getsomerelatedinformationaboutstudyingabroadandsharetheiropinionsbyreadingpassagesandwatchingthevideo.教學內(nèi)容教學重點:檢測學生對本單元重點詞匯及核心語法項目——名詞性從句的掌握情況。(活動一要求學生用所給的詞語改寫句子,幫助他們鞏固這些詞語的用法,引導他們用不同的方式表達類似的意思,豐富語言表達形式?;顒?的匹配練習涉及名詞性從句的不同種類,引導學生把握不同的句子結(jié)構(gòu),積累名詞性從句的典型句式,如mysuggestion...isthat...)通過語篇引導學生了解國外留學的益處以及挑戰(zhàn),了解留學可能產(chǎn)生的文化沖突及其四個階段。教學難點:引導學生結(jié)合所學對國外留學及文化交流形成自己的思考,并綜合相關(guān)話題的詞匯及語法知識,談?wù)?、分享自己對國外留學的看法。教學過程Step1LearningobjectivesTheteacherwillshowthegoalsofthisclass.[Justification]Itwillmakestudentsclearaboutthetargetoftheclass,thusfollowingthelesson.Step2LeadinTheteacherwillshowthepictureofanexchangestudent,thenraisetwoquestions:Wheredoyouthinkthegirlmightbefrom?Wheredoyouthinksheisstudyingnow?[Justification]Itwillactivatestudents’mindsthroughengagingtheirsensesin,finally,leadstotoday’stopicnaturally.Step3VocabularyActivity1MatchingTheteacherwillshowsomekeywordsandphrasesinthisunitaswellastheirEnglishmeanings,andarrangethetask:matcheachwordwithitsEnglishmeaning.[Justification]Itwillmakestudentsreviewtheimportantvocabularytounderstandthembetterandgetfamiliarwiththem,thengetreadyforthenextactivity.Activity2RewritingTheteacherwillshowsomesentencesandthevocabularybasedonActivity1forstudents,thenarrangethetask:rewritethesentenceswiththecorrectformsofthewordsorphrasesinbrackets.[Justification]Itwillhelpstudentsenrichtheirvocabularyandmakethemexpressvariously,finallydeveloptheirlanguageskills.Activity3Filling&ExploringTheteacherwillgiveaninpletepassageforstudentstochoosecorrectformsofthewordsinthebox.Theteacherwillgiveatiptostudentstoimproveaccuracyrate:wecanputpartsofspeechfirstbeforefilling.Aftercheckingtheanswer,studentswillbegivensomeusefulphrasestounderstandandmemorize.Afterthatstudentsaresupposedtoreadthepassageandanswerquestions:What’sthetexttype?Whatdoesthepassagemainlytalkabout?Whydidtheauthorsay“studyingabroadwasalifechangingexperience”?Didtheauthorthinkitwasagoodideatostudyabroad?Why?[Justification]Itwillmakestudentsconsolidatethevocabularyinthisunitagain;Studentsalsogetthelearningstrategytostudybetter;students’vocabularygetenrichedanddevelopahabitofsummarizingthephrasesinapassage;studentswilldevelopreadingskillsandhaveacriticalthinkingmind.Step4GrammarActivity1ReviewingTheteacherwillleadstudentstohaveabriefreviewofnounclause.[Justification]Studentsformerknowledgeofthegrammarfocuswillbearoused,andgetfamiliarwithit.Activity2MatchingTheteacherwillpresentsomeinpleteclausesforstudentstomakepletesentences.Andthen,studentsarerequiredtounderlinenounclausesandfindouttheconjunctionswhicharetoleadnounclauses.[Justification]Studentswillconsolidatethegrammarfocusandaccumulatedifferentpatternsofnounclausestoexpress;furthermore,itleadstonextactivitynaturally.Activity3PresentingTheteacherwillpresentthetypesofconjunctionsandanalyzetheusageofthem.[Justification]Studentswillmakeclearerabouthowtochooseandusedifferentconjunctionstoleadnounclauses,andgetreadyfornextactivity.Activity4Filling&ExploringTheteacherwillpresentapassageoncultureshockforstudentstopletewiththegivenwordsinthebox.Aftercheckingtheanswer,studentswillbeinvitedtoreaditagainandanswerquestions:Whatarethefourstagesofcultureshock?Howdoyouthinkpeoplecanoverecultureshock?Pleaseusenounclausestoanswerthequestion.[Justification]Studentswillconsolidatethegrammar;Theywilllearnsomeknowledgeaboutcultureshock,andusewhattheyhavelearnedaboutnounclausetomakesentences,whichhelpsthemexpresstheirideasbetter;itwillalsodeveloptheirskimmingandscanningskills;andfinallyitactivatetheirmindsanddeveloptheirthinkingcapacity.Step5WatchandShareTheteacherwillplayavideoaboutdifferentideasonstudyingabroad,afterthataskstudentsabouttheiropinionsonit.Then,invitesomeofthemtosharetheiropinions.Finally,theteacherwillsummarizetheclassbycitingaproverbofMaryAnneRadmacher.[Justification]Itwillmobilizesensesofstudentstothinkbetter;Itwillgivesomesourcesforthemtoactivatetheirminds;Itwilldevelopstudents’sp
