用法(1)若主句表示的是一個短暫性動作，從句表示的是一個持續(xù)性動作，三者都可用：Hefellasleepwhen[while,as]hewasreading.他看書時睡著了。用法(2)若主、從句表示兩個同時進(jìn)行的持續(xù)性動作，且強調(diào)主句表示的動作延續(xù)到從句所指的整個時間，通常要用while：Don’ttalkwhileyou’reeating.吃飯時不要說話。用法(3)若從句是一個短暫性動作，主句是一個持續(xù)性動作，可用as/when但不用while：Itwasraininghardwhen[as]wearrived.arrive

是短暫動詞我們到達(dá)時正下著大雨。用法(4)若要表示兩個正在發(fā)展變化的情況，相當(dāng)于漢語的“隨著”，一般用as：Thingsaregettingbetterandbetterastimegoeson.隨著時間的推移，情況越來越好用法(5)表示“每當(dāng)…的時候”(暗示一種規(guī)律性)，一般要用when：It’scoldwhenitsnows.下雪時天冷。Hesmileswhenyoupraisehim.你夸獎他時他總是笑笑。用法(6)若主從句所表示的動作不是同時發(fā)生，而是有先后順序時，一般要用when：Iwillgohomewhenhecomesback.他回來時，我就回家去。特殊用法when
