概述

教材解讀

本單元的中心話題是“奧運會”,旨在通過單元教學使學生了解奧運會的有關知

識,學會描古代奧運會與現(xiàn)代奧運會的異同;復習一般將來時的被動語態(tài),鼓勵學生在

兩人活動和小組活動中積極發(fā)言,這樣既可以消除害羞的心理,又有利于學生掌握恰當

的交際策略。

1.1WarmingUp部分通過討論讓學生了解古代和現(xiàn)代奧運會的異同。

1.2Pre-reading部分的三個問題則進一步考查學生對奧運會基本常識的了解。

1.3Reading部分作者通過一個虛擬的采訪向讀者介紹了古代奧運會與現(xiàn)代奧運會

的異同。

1.4Comprehending部分幫助學生歸納他們已知的和剛學到的關于古代與現(xiàn)代奧運

會異同,并且進一步討論奧運會相關知識。

1.5LearningaboutLanguage部分都同單元主題緊密相關,詞匯和語法結構的呈現(xiàn)也

盡可能地安排在相關的語境中。

根據(jù)本課時的特點,安排了八個環(huán)節(jié),第一個環(huán)節(jié)是導入環(huán)節(jié),播放由劉歡和莎

拉?布萊曼演唱的Youandme的MTV,讓學生跟著一起唱,視聽唱相結合,激發(fā)學生

的學習興趣和欲望。進行奧運會知識搶答競賽,激活學生相關的背景知識,引入課文

主題—theOlympicGames。第二個環(huán)節(jié):猜測是培養(yǎng)學生閱讀能力的有效方法之一。

讓學生讀標題和課文中的插圖預測課文內容,可以培養(yǎng)學生的想象力,激發(fā)其用語言

表達的欲望。第三個環(huán)節(jié)速度(Skimming)是一種快速閱讀法,學生不需要將文章仔細

看完,它要求學生了解文章的主要信息,整體理解文章。筆者設計的3個問題有利于培

養(yǎng)學生快速閱讀的能力,幫助學生理清篇章的脈絡,為處理文章的細節(jié)做準備。第四

個環(huán)節(jié)是略讀環(huán)節(jié),在教學中把課文中的信息設計成表格填空的形式,讓學生在閱讀

過程中歸納出古代奧運會和現(xiàn)代奧運會的異同。這些表格降低了閱讀難度,能使學生更

好地理解課文細節(jié),提高閱讀效率。第五個環(huán)節(jié)是理解,以上題目的設計旨在檢測學

生的閱讀理解能力和推理判斷能力,同時把課文閱讀教學與高考閱讀理解進行鏈接,

培養(yǎng)學生的閱讀策略和技能。第六個環(huán)節(jié)復述課文,設計了篇章填空的形式讓學生復

述課文,讓學生進行語言輸出活動,這樣學生就能輕松地對文章進行概括總結。第七

個環(huán)節(jié)是討論,該討論題目由Pre-reading中的第三個問題“Whydomanycountrieswant

tohosttheOlympicGameswhileothersdonot?”改編而來。此話題能引發(fā)學生積極思

考,能激起學生參與討論的熱情。第八個環(huán)節(jié)是布置作業(yè),家庭作業(yè)的設計把課堂上

學生的討論活動進行了延伸,使學生由口頭輸出活動轉化到寫的輸出活動,訓練學生

的寫作能力。
