intelligent,buthaven'thadtheopportunitiestheycould'vehad,had
theybeeneducatedinabroader-mindededucationalsystems.Ifeelthat
alotofcoursesthatstudentsarefocusedtotakeinhighschoolaretoo
academic,and,asaresult,manykidslosttheirinterestinlearning.
Educatorshavefailedtorecognizevariouskindsofintelligence.They
oftenexertalotofpressureonstudentstobeaswell-roundedaspossible,
Ithinkbeingwell-roundedisn,treallypossible.Andasaconsequence
somestudentswhoarebelievedtobeintelligentcan'tgetintogood
collegesifthey,forexample,haven'tscoredwellonthemathsection,
eveniftheyatebrilliantwriters.
Anotherthingthatdisturbsmeisthattheso-called“weakstudents”
