TheUnionbudgetfor2024placessignificantemphasisonpromotingdomestictourism.FinanceMinister,Ms.NirmalaSitharamanannouncedplanstoprovideinterest-freeloanstostatesaimedatenhancingtourismwithintheirrespectiveregions.

MedicalVisahasbeenintroduced,whichcanbegivenforspecificpurposestoforeigntravellerscomingtoIndiaformedicaltreatment.‘E-MedicalVisa’hasalsobeenintroducedfor166countries.

In2020,theSAATHIinitiativewiththeQualityCouncilofIndiawaslaunchedtoassistthehospitalityindustrytoensuresafetyandhygienefortouristsandtheworkforce.

ThisinitiativeisalignedwithAatmanirbharBharattosensitizetheindustryontheCOVIDregulations,andtheGovernmentannouncedAatmanirbharBharatPackagevidewhichRs.3lakhcrore(US$36billion)collateral-freeautomaticloanhasbeenmadeavailableforMSMEs.Theloanwillhaveafour-yeartenureanda12-monthmoratorium.
