We did try very hard to get a representative sample of our patient profile. Unfortunately, a number of patients in various categories did not agree to do the questionnaire. We would have liked to recruit more male patients and will continue to encourage this.Comparative Profiles of Practice and PPG Practice Profile PPG Profile18-25yr s 8.9% 0% 26-35yrs 12.6% 7.1%36-45yrs 13% 28.6%46-55yrs 13.7% 21.4%56-65yrs 11.6% 28.6%65yrs 17.7% 14.3%Male 18yrs 43.8% 28.6%Female18yrs 39.42% 71.4%EthnicMinority 18yrs 1.6% 7.1%Although the profile of the PPG does not match that of our practice list, we are very pleased to work with the people who have put themselves forward for the PPG. We will continue to try and broaden the make up of the group over time.A description to be entered in around how the Practice and the PPG determined and reached an agreement on the issues which had priority within the Local Practice survey:We e-mailed a proposed survey to all members of the PPG. Unfortunately, we did not receive many responses regarding the proposed survey. Some of the comments received were as follows:“The survey was satisfactory in that it gave one the chance to comment individually as well as answer specific questions”“I am sure the responses would on the whole prove what an excellent practice Croft Hall is”.A description of how the Practice sought to obtain the views of its registered patientsWe have used the 2012-13 GPAQ v3 questionnaire. This was completed by patients attending the surgery and e-mailed to members of the patient participation group. We took a representative sample of patients attending the surgery and asked them to complete the updated survey. We looked at the results of both questionnaires to prioritise any issues that came up.A description of how the Practice sought to discuss the outcomes of the local survey and the Practices action plan togetherThe outcomes being e-mailed to the patient participation group for their opinions. A description of the findings or proposals that arose from the local Practice survey and what can be implemented and if appropriate reasons why any such findings or proposals should not be implementedPPG = Patient Participation Group PAS = Patients attending SurgeryHow easy is it to book ahead in your Practice50% found it fairly easy or very easy and 50% not at all easy - PPG81.25% found it easy or very easy PASHow quickly do you usually get seen by a particular doctor 100% rated Good Very Good - PPG78% rated Good Excellent - PAS How quickly do you usually get seen by any doctor100% rated Very Good Excellent PPG84.4% rated Good Excellent PASIs your GP Practice currently open at times convenient to you100% - Yes - PPG83.67% - Yes PASHow would you describe your GP surgery100% rated Very Good Excellent - PPG91.66% rated Very Good Excellent - PASA summary of any evidence including statistical evidence relating to the findings or basis of proposals arising out of the local Practice survey:Comments from Patient Participation Group“I normally try hard to see the Doctor I am registered with. This avoids new Doctor(s) having to go through all my history and me having to ensure I have given all the facts necessary. Dr. has a very pleasant approach to patients and is therefore sought after by people who are not actually registered with him. This makes it difficult to see him quickly as the government says people should be able to see the doctor of their choice.”“Effective and efficient which helps to relieve stress when one feels anxious always feel “better” after speaking with my GP”.Comments from Patients attending Surgery“The ladies that draw blood are amazing and kind. The Receptionists are very helpful, I am never left holding and I dont feel rushed off the phone”.“It can be difficult sometimes to get through on the phone at 8.30am and then frustrating after several attempts to discover all appointments are booked for that day, otherwise generally very satisfied”“Overall I am very pleased to be at this surgery. The receptionists are very helpful and Doctors and Nurses are very attentive. I just wish they werent so busy”.“All staff are very polite and professional”.“This is a very good Practice, the Doctors are excellent. Thank you”.“Although sometimes difficult to get through on the phone but always get an appointment. Very helpful and all staff very friendly”.A description of the action which the Practice and the PCT intend to take as a consequence of discussions with the PPG in respect of the results, findings and proposals arising out of the local Practice survey. If this is the second year of the scheme detail here any changes and issues since the 31st March 2012 local patient participation report was completed. We do try to be adaptable with the appointments we offer to meet the ever increasing demands of Primary Care. We have increased the number of appointments available for each GP and monitor on a regular basis. We only book locums when it is absolutely necessary and try to cover all surgery absences in-house.We have changed our appointments system for a trial period to make more same day appointments available in order to see more patients on the day they contact us.We have increased access to telephone advice from GPs.We are happy with the results of both surveys and are striving to continue to maintain this lev
