Lets look at the picture together. Who are the two men in the picture?Ss:They are Robinson Crusoe and Friday.T:Great! Now, Lets read the passage together.Step III While-reading1.Fast reading, Read the passage for the first time.Underline the new words for you. Guess the meanings of them, you can discuss them with your parener.Show the new words on the blackboard, and ask stuedents to read them correctly.Then ask students to do exercise 3b. Find words that have these meanings. Check the answers with them.2.Careful teaching. Read the passage carefully, find the anweers for the two questions in the box.(1)What does Robinson Cruson wait for? He waits for another ship.(2)Why does Robinson Cruson call the man Friday? Because he met the man on Friday.Explain some difficulties for the students if they need.Step IV After-readingLook at the sentences in 3b, they are about the passage. But there are mistakes in them. Have a try to find out the mistakes and correct them. Dont look back the passage. Give them two minutes to correct the sentences, After that, check the answers together.Step V SummaryPlay a short piece of film Robingson Crosoe for Ss.In this period, we read a short passage based on Robinson Crusoe and developed our reading skill. Through the passage, we learned much from Robinson Crusoe.
