Unit 1 Stay Healthy.Lesson 2 A visit to the Dentist 教材分析1. Analysis of the Students The students of Grade 9 have mastered certain vocabularies,expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of self-teaching and working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English.2. Analysis of Teaching ContentLesson 2 is the second lesson in Unit 1, Book 5.This unit focus on the subject staying healthy. Students cares about the subject because it is close to everyone. Lesson 2 mainly talks about Wang Meis visit to the dentist. It also tells us an old German saying: Fear makes the wolf bigger than he is. It can raise Ss interests easily. 教學目標 【知識目標】(1)Be able to use: toothache, German, have no choice but to do, refuse to dosb.sth(2)To understand: dentist, rotten, fortunately, headset, aching, wolf, go to the dentist, have a toothache, right away.【能力目標】 To develop the students abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. 【情感目標】 教學重難點 To encourage the students not to be afraid when they meet some trouble or something difficult. 【教學重點】【教學重點】 (1)To master the important words, phrases and sentences. (2)To master the usage of refuse sb.sth.to do, have no choice but to【教學難點】To understand the whole lesson and discuss how to take care of our teeth. 課前準備 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教學過程Step 1. Warm-upFree talk: T: Have you ever had a toothache? What does a dentist do?Step 2. Presentation1. Show the new words.2. Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks(1) Wang Mei is really afraid of going to the_.(2) This morning, she woke up with a terrible_.(3) One of her _was probably rotten.(4) On the way home, Mum told her an old_ saying.Then pay attention to “dentist”. Language points: Im really afraid of going to the dentist. be afraid of害怕,后跟名詞、代詞或動名詞,表示害怕會發(fā)生某事或某情況,相當于be scared of.Im afraid of going out at night.我害怕晚上外出?!綞xtension】(1)be afraid to do sth. 表示“因害怕而不敢做某事”He is afraid to go out alone at night.他不敢晚上一個人出去。(2)“Im afraid+從句”表示“我恐怕”,常用來表達不愿發(fā)生的事情。Im afraid I cant go there with you.我恐怕不能和你一起去那兒。I dont know why , but I have had this fear since I was very young. since為連詞,意為“自從以來”,與現(xiàn)在完成時連用,其后可跟句子,也可跟“時間段+ago”。I have worked here since two years ago.我在這兒工作兩年了。I had no choice but to go with her. have no choice but to do sth.意為“除了做某事以外,別無選擇”或“只好做某事”。I have no choice but to give up.我沒有辦法,只好放棄。Fortunately, the dentist, Dr. Hu , was very kind. fortunately為副詞,意為“幸運地”,其同義詞為luckily,反義詞為unfortunately/unluckily,其形容詞形式是fortunate。fortunately多用作插入語,比luckily更具強調(diào)性。She saw right away that I was scared and told me not to worry. right away意為“立刻,馬上”,其同義短語有:at once , in a minute/moment。scared為形容詞,意為“對感到恐懼的,害怕的”。主語通常是人,指人對某事恐懼/害怕。be scared of意為“對感到害怕”。Before I knew it, my aching tooth was fixed. aching為形容詞,意為“疼痛的”,它是由ache去-e加后綴- ing構(gòu)成的形容詞。 pain, ache(1)pain既可指一般疼痛,又可指劇痛。疼痛范圍可以是全身或局部,時間可長可短。(2)ache指人體內(nèi)部或外部的某一器官感覺上較持久的疼痛。常與head/tooth/stomach/back等表示身體部位的詞連用,構(gòu)成合成詞。was fixed是被動語態(tài)形式。當謂語動詞與主語之間是動賓關(guān)系時,句子就用被動語態(tài)。被動語態(tài)中謂語動詞為“be+過去分詞”。fix的過去分詞在詞尾直接加上- ed。My tooth did not hurt at all. notat all意為“一點兒也不,根本不”。I dont know about it at all.對那件事我一點兒也不知道。It can be used to address doctors such as dentists, surgeons, physicians and some professors. be used to do sth.意為“被用來做某事”,屬于被動語態(tài)結(jié)構(gòu)。Wood can be used to make paper.木頭可被用來造紙。Step 3.
