1、基于文本的游戲 基于文本的游戲在智能手機及手持設(shè)備領(lǐng)域卷土重來。finley最近將自己的創(chuàng) 作焦點轉(zhuǎn)向這片領(lǐng)域,逐步涉獵基于瀏覽器的內(nèi)容。finley負責academagia: the making of mages的創(chuàng)作工作,這款游戲幾個 月前剛由black chicken studio發(fā)行。這是款瞄準9歲以上用戶的pc游戲,融 合生活模擬及文本角色扮演游戲的玩法機制。academagia雖然不是aaa掌機游戲,但對finley來說卻是個重要的學習經(jīng) 歷。遺憾的是,文案作者(游戲邦注:尤其是那些投身在線領(lǐng)域的創(chuàng)作者)通常 需要很努力地融入項目開發(fā)過程屮。finley表示,“這是款大型游戲,所

8、as been a great learning experience for finley as a freelancer. undoubtedly writers, especially those working online, often struggle to be fully included in the development process- "it' s a vast geime, so i was able to add a lot of my ideas to the universe, ” says finley.finley is currentl

9、y writing the downloadable content adventures. soon, she will be starting design work on the sequel. above all, player feedback drives her as she t hinks ahead to the sequel. "it,s been a pre tty awesome experi cncc watch ing the comm unity on the forums respond to the game and discover the ele

10、ments which i contributed. ”shortly after working with black chicken studio, finley also picked up a cont rac t as an int erac tive story desig net and game desi gner for slooce technologics. slooce creates single-player and multiplayer text-based games over short message service (sms). she gets to

13、i was three!, types and i,d been playing games since i was five, ” says finley. about four years ago, she began to explore how she could combine her two passions. a friend of hers who was an owner of a game development studio suggested she check out gdc. although she cnjoyed the event and met with s

14、everal very helpful human resource representatives, there weren" t any openings for game writers, let alone studios with in-house positions or freelance contracts.despi te the setback, finley attended the event again the fol lowing year and met a community of supportive writers. uafter spending

15、 time with them, 1 was pretty confident that 1 could work in the industry, ” finley shares.it took time and lots of posting on message boards and mailing lists, but eventually finley found a request on a writers forum for lore writers, which turned out to be academagia. her enthusiasm and ski 1is le

16、d to a position and later promotion.freelance lifenow, finley is balancing the age-old challenge of freelancing一 continuously seeking new work while completing contracts. each project is di f fere nt, which mea ns tha t finley can,t recycle writ ing samples time and time again.“when applying for a j

17、ob, you need to create all new samples that show you tailor your work to the project" s genre, tone, and style, ” advises finley. this can take a lot of effort and energy, and doesn' t guarantee getting the position, but it does build a portfolio for future work.not ably, freelance writ ers
