3、supporting teachers and principals,and turning around schools that aren ' t working, where students aren' t getting theopportun ities that they deserveBut at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supp ortive paren ts, the best schools in the world - and none o

4、f it will make a differe nee, none of it will matter uni ess all of you fulfill your respon sibilities, uni ess you show up to those schools, uni ess you pay atte nti on to those teachers, uni ess you liste n to your parents and grandparents and other adults and put in the hard work it takes to succ

5、eed That' what I want to focus on today: the respon sibility each of you has for your educationI want to start with the respon sibility you have to yourself。Every sin gle one of you has something that you' rgood at。 Every sin gle one of you has someth ing to offer。 And you have a respon sibi

6、lity to yourself to discover what that is。 That' s the opportunity an educati on can p rovide Maybe you could be a great writer -maybe eve n good eno ugh to write a book or articles in a n ews paper - but you might not know it until you write that English paper - that English class paper that &#

7、39; s assig ned to youMaybe you could be an inno vator or an inven tor - maybe eve n good eno ugh to come up with the n ext iPhone or the new medic ine or vacc ine - but you might not know it un til you do your p roject for your scienee class。Maybe you could be amayor or a senator or a Supreme Court

8、 justice - but you might not know that un til you join stude nt gover nment or the debate team。And no matter what you want to do with your life, I guarantee that you' llan education to do it。 You want to be a doctor, or a teacher, or a police officer? You want to be a nurse or an architect, a la

9、wyer or a member of our military?You' re going to need a good education for every sin gle one of those careersYou cannot drop out of school and just drop into a good job。 You' ve got to train for it and work for it and learn for it。 And this isn ' t just important for your own life and y
