They will be coming by train and most of the young people in

9、 appear vi. 出現(xiàn), 顯露, (演員等)出場, (書刊等)出版 My friends didnt appear until six oclock. 句型:appear + (to be ) + 表語 / appear to do 好像(是) ,似乎, 仿佛 He appears quite old. 他顯得很老。 It appears (to be ) a true story. 這似乎是真事。 句型:appear + 從句 好像 It appears to me that she will win. 我看她要贏。 比較:appear , seem , look 三者都作“看起來似”

10、解。 appear 強(qiáng)調(diào)外表給人的印象,有時含有實(shí)質(zhì)上并非如此的意思。 He appears to know more than he really does. 他看起來好像懂得很多,其實(shí)懂得沒有那么多。 seem 暗示有一定根據(jù)的判斷,這種判斷往往接近真實(shí)。 His health seems to be better. 他的健康狀況似乎有好轉(zhuǎn)。 look 著重由視覺得出印象。 He doesnt look his age. 他看上去與年齡不符。 (比實(shí)際年輕或年老。 ) It looks as if we are going to miss the train. 我們好像趕不上火車了。 ap

11、pear , seem , look 均可作系動詞, 后接形容詞、名詞或 to be,意思相近。 例: 他看起來好像很生氣。 He looks (to be ) angry. He seems (to be) angry. He appears ( to be ) angry. appear 和 seem 后可接 to do , 而 look 當(dāng)此意講時,只能與 to be 連用。 The teacher seems to know about it.老師似乎已了解此事。 She looks to know it 她盼望知道此事。 appear , seem 可用于 it appears /

12、seems that 結(jié)構(gòu), look 不能. appear, seem, look 都可接 as if 引導(dǎo)的狀語從句.用心 愛心 專心appear , seem 屬于 be 一類的動詞, 可用于 there be 句型, 但 look 不能. 14、 hers. e.g. 這輛車與她的不同。The car is different from hers.我對她很熟悉。I am familiar with her.我對這個女孩很熟悉。The girl is familiar to me. 4. protect vt. 保護(hù), 使免受傷害. protect sth. from 1)If you stand holding your arms across your chest, you may be protecting yourself - just from conversation you dont want! 如果你站在那兒,雙臂交叉放
