2、ementofteachers'DayandtheycelebratedbythemselvesforteachersintheCentralUniversityinNanjing.Soon,theKMTgovernmentfirstagreedonJune6fortheteachers,thenteachers'daychangedtoAugust27(birthdayofConfucius).After1949,theCentralPeople'sgovernmentresumedJune6forteachers,theMinistryofEducationgave

3、acircularthatlocaleducationworkers,accordingtotheactualsituationtoorganizetheircelebrationactivities.In1951NationalEducationtradeunions,educatorsarerecognizedaspartoftheworkingclass.OnApril19,1951,MinisterofEducationandtheChineseEducationunionChairmanoftheNationalCommitteeissuedawrittenstatementthat

4、May1InternationalLaborDaywasatthesametimecelebratedasteachers'day.Butthisdaylacksteachers'professionandtheresultswerenotideal.Especiallyafter1957,undertheinfluenceofthe"extremeleft",teacherswereignored,soteachers'dayhasactuallyceasedtoexist.Inrecentyears,theChinesegovernmenthas

5、takenmanymeasurestomobilizethewholesocietytorespectteachers,improvethestatusofteachersandimproveteachersworkandlivingconditions.Tofurtherenhancethepoliticalstatusofteachersandsocialstatusandformationofrespectingteachers,respectforknowledgeandtalent,topromotethedevelopmentofeducation,accordingtoNPCde

6、putiesandCPPCCNationalCommitteemembersandthecommunity,especiallymanyteachersthroughoutthecountry,aproposalwasputforwardtotheStateCouncilonJanuary11,1985,totheNationalPeople'sCongressStandingCommitteeondeterminingtheannualSeptember10thforteachers'day.OnJanuary21ofthesameyear,the16thNationalPe

7、ople'sCongressagreedontheproposal,decidedonSeptember10forteachers'day.September10wasestablishedfortheteachersbecausefreshmenatthebeginning,beganhonoringteachersanditiseasytocreateanatmosphereofteachingandlearning.Meanwhile,Septemberhasnoothernationalcelebrationsanditiseasytofocusonactivities

8、andtopromoteformationofrespectingteachers,respectingknowledgeandtalentsasgoodsocialhabitsinthecountry.ATeacher'sDay,honoursteachersinChina.Teachers'worktoalargeextentdeterminethefutureofourcountry.Teachersworkwitheveryfamilyandeverychild.Inhumanandsocialdevelopmentandprogress,teachersplayahu
