、3. About object Describe the most important gift you have received. Why is it the most important gift ? Include details to support your explanation.4. About success Do you agree or disagree with the following statement ? Only people who have power and earn a lot of money are successful. Use specific

、reasons and examples in your answer. Many people strongly believe that large income equals success. According to me success is more than earning a lot of money. In my point of view only people who earn a lot of love and affection, respect, fame are the successful people. So I disagree with the state

、ment that only people who earn a lot of money are successful. First of all gaining love and affection is important to me. If we have lot of money but if we dont have a person who cares and loves you means what you will do with that money. You cant buy love and affections with money. Some people thin

、k that if we earn lot of money means we can do anything. Some time they will neglect their family members in busy of earning money. Some time they dont have time to enjoy their personal life, and then what is the use of that money. Life is short we have a lot of relations you should respect them. Ne

、xt getting respect is significant. For example my neighbors are very rich, they are not attend any functions in colony. They can think that everything get by money. They wont get respect from the colony. When you will respect others then others will respect you.Teachers are earns low salaries but th

、eir name, fame and respect, we cant describe in words. Job satisfaction is important than earning lot of money. Most people assume that famous people are rich people. I dont think that is true because I saw many people who are famous but not rich. For example Mother TheresaEverybody know her well, s

、he is a famous social worker. When she was come to India she has few rupees in her pocket, because her helping nature she got a name and fame. Mother Theresa was great humanitarian.

5. About work Some people prefer to choose a job where they can get a lot of money. Others like to find a job from which they can get great personal satisfaction. Which do you prefer and why?

、Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. I will definitely choose the second one-a job through which I can obtain great personal satisfaction. I have two reasons for this choice. To begin with, a job takes up at least eight hours per day, which is one third of our lives in total. If

、 I am assigned to boring tasks or things I dont like to do, I feel unhappy all day and that is the last thing I want. Moreover, money plays only a minor role in my life, compared with personal satisfaction and leisure. So basically I will try my best to find my “l(fā)abor of love”, because once I do so,

、 my job will become my leisure and I feel happy and contented all day long. 6. About culture Shou

、ld a city try to preserve its old, historic buildings or destory them and replace them with modern buildings ? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. As far as I am concerned, a city should pay effort to preserve its old historic buildings. On the one hand, old historic buildings

、 are the signs of a city, they show the citys history and culture. It may be even the witness of the country, as we all know, a large number of tourists come to China every year, and most of them choose to go to Beijing or Xian. Why? Because both Beijing and Xian are the capital cities in the Chines

、e history, there are many old historic buildings, and you can know better about Chinese history and Chinese culture. On the other hand, the old historic buildings spotting in the modern constructions are a special view of the city. If a city destroys all old historic buildings, and builds new and mo

、dern buildings, then all cities in the world would look just the same. To sum up, preserving old historic buildings has a great contribution to make our city more brilliant.

Of course I prefer keep those old buildings in the city for the following reasons. First, somehow those old stuff represent our traditional culture and long his

、tory. We need them to educate our generations, teaching them our valuable culture and helping them build up a deeper and better understanding of China. Second, those precious buildings would be the best places for us to get rid of modern stuff and relax ourselves. If I felt bored due to intensive wo

、rks, I would like to walk around those buildings and calm myself down. Because these old-styled constructions would remind you of peaceful and serene atmosphere in the old time, which would release the pressure from my work.

7. About life Some people trust their first impressions about a persons character because they believe these judgements are generally correct. Other people do not judge

、 a persons character quickly because they believe first impressions are often wrong. Compare these two attitudes. Which attitude do you agree with ? Support your choose with specific examples. Each time we meet a new person,we make pre-judgments about them. These judgments can be true or false.Person

、ally, from my daily experience,I think that the first impression is usually wrong. In other words, our first impression is formed by several factors. One of those factors is the situation in which we meet the person.Sometimes, the situation controls the persons behavior. This behavior is the result of som

、e developing emotions. At first, people can be happy, angry, sad or bored. But,they cant be in those situations all the time.We also start criticize them by the external appearance: by the clothes, hair cut and others.I had a same situation with an old friend. At first I think she was arrogant because she

、have always stayed alone.I found her suspicious and old fashioned. But when I started to talk with her,I realized she was an amazing person,so,my first impression was wrong. I think we should judge people by their actions and deeds. Also,we should judge people by their attitude to others. The proverb w

、hich say:”Treat people the way you want to be treated is totally right. This is a very important attitude because it helps to know better a person:his reactions in various situations or how he deals with classmates and parents. In conclusion,I believe that first impressions are often wrong.By communi

、cations, actions and deeds, and by attitude we could get to know the person better.

I would prefer the latter statement for the following reasons. First, if you depended on

、 the first sight, its easier to be cheated on. Just like my best friend Jason, the first impression he imposed me was that he was indifferent and serious. But after several months dealing with, I found that he is so attractive and easy-going if you are familiar with him. He can always cheer you up w

、hen you are not in a good mood, I really I would judge him according to his first appearance. Second, in-depth communication would enable you to make many more friends, so its more important. Because if you choose to judge a person based on the first sight, its easy to give him up, you two cant get

、acquaintance with, which means you would lose chances to enlarge your communicating circle. The more friends you have, the better your life would be. Therefore, the latter one is more important.

8. About technology Do you agree or disagree with the following statement ? Students should not be allowed to take their cell phones intoclassrooms. Use spe

、cific reasons and examples to support your answer. I disagree with the statement that students should not be allowed to bring cell phones into classroom. First of all, lets be practical, where would students leave their cell phones when classes begin? Does it mean that I cant bring my cell phones to

、 school everyday just because its banned in classrooms? It would be a big inconvenience for me if thats the case, because I use my phone a lot, for example, I need it to keep in touch with family and friends, not to mention all my class schedules are on my phone. Second, I can just turn off or silen

、t my phone during classes, that way, it wont make any noise or distract anyone, and I can still use it to do my things during the breaks.

9. About education Do you agree or disagree with the following statement ? Participating in class discussions makes students learn more. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.I strongly believe that class discussion can benefit

、students a lot, in terms of both learning and communication skills. Through class discussion, students can broaden their horizon by listening to different opinions expressed from different perspectives. Anyway, many heads are better than one. Also, we can strengthen our communication skills in this

、way, because we can learn how to express our ideas persuasively and accept others opinions selectively. When we make a presentation, debate with other groups and conclude the whole discussion, we can make progress in public speaking.

10. Sometimes we head out of town and try a new hiking trail in the woods. The outdoors is a great place to meet other like

In addition, he is interested in joining my friends and I in forming a volleyball team. The outdoors offers a great opportu

、 If I have spare time, I would choose to stay with my friends and have fun. I have many buddies whom I havent seen for a long time and I prefer to have a get-together with my old friends. We like singing, dancing, and would even throw someone into the swimming pool for fun. Also, we can go for a trip together, during which we can take care of each other and take beautiful photos, just like a big family. I still keep the photos when we watched the sun rise and had a barbeque in the countryside. These memories will accompany me all my life.
