11、ever better, like a rock._.I have never heard a better voice._.I think nothing is more pleasant than travelling._.語法探究 1. must 的主要用法。 表示必須、必要 We must do everything step by step .我們必須按部就班地做一切事情。 must be + 表語的結構,通常表示猜測,含有“一定”之意。(只用在肯定句中) He must be an honest boy. 他一定是個誠實的男孩。 must +have +過去分詞的結構,常用在肯定句
12、中,表示對過去發(fā)生行為的推測,含有“一定”、“準是”的意思。否定和疑問句用can。She must have studied English before.她以前一定學過英語。 must 的否定式有兩個:當回答由must引起的問題時,否定答復要用neednt或dont have to表示“不必”、“無須”、“用不著”、“不一定”的意義。當表示“不應該”、“不許可”、“禁止”時,就用must not。Must I go tomorrow? 明天我必須去嗎? Yes, please.是的,請吧! No , you neednt. 不,你不必去。2. have to 的主要用法 have to 有人
13、稱和數(shù)的變化,可用于多種時態(tài)中:一般現(xiàn)在時中當主語是第三人稱單數(shù)時要用has to,其余的人稱用have to,一般過去時中要用had to; 一般將來時中則要用will have to.She has to go to school by bus. 她不得不乘公共汽車上學。You'll have to see the doctor if you get ill. 如果你生病了,就得去看醫(yī)生。 have to 的否定句和疑問句的構成往往要借助于助動詞do的適當形式或助動詞will即have to, has to, had to和will have to的否定式分別為don't
14、have to, doesn't have to, didn't have to和won't have to,疑問句是在句首加助動詞do的相應形式,句中還原成have to或把will放到句首。What does she have to do? 她必須做什么?You didn't have to wait for me yesterday. 昨天你沒有必要等我。 have to和must 的區(qū)別 含義和用法上的區(qū)別,have to強調客觀需要做某事,即表示由于客觀外界的條件的需要不得不做某事,含有“形勢逼迫”的意味,must強調說話者主觀上認為必須做某事,含有“
15、主觀判斷”的意味。My bike was broken on my way to school. I had to walk there. 我的自行車在上學的路上壞了, 我不得不走路去上學。We must learn English well. 我們必須學好英語。 否定式的區(qū)別:have to 的否定式意思為“不必”,must的否定式mustn't 意為“禁止,不允許”。因此,以must 開頭的一般疑問句的肯定回答為“Yes, 主語+must.”。否定回答為“No, 主語+needn't / don't have to.”.Must I finish the homew
16、ork now? 我必須現(xiàn)在完成作業(yè)嗎?Yes, you must. /No, you needn't. 是的,你必須現(xiàn)在完成。(不,你不必。) need與have to 用法辨析 need表示需要,主要用于否定句和疑問句。用于疑問句,肯定回答用must,否定回答用needn't。have to表示他人或客觀情況要求“必須”,也可以翻譯為“不得不”,have to否定形式意思是“不一定”或“沒有必要”。 3. ought to 的用法 表示義務,意為“應該”(因責任、義務而該做),口氣比should稍重。We ought to defend our country.我們應當保衛(wèi)
17、我們的國家。 You ought to respect your parents.你應當尊敬你的父母。 表示推測,暗含很大的可能,可譯為“應該是,會是”。Prices ought to come down soon.價格可能會很快下跌。 ought to和should的含義較近,但不完全相同。ought to表示“應該”,是從“義務”或“按理推斷”的角度來講的。should則是從說話人的個人看法這一角度來講的。You are her mother. You ought to look after her.你是她的母親,你應當照管她。(是道義上的責任,不能和should互換。)We should
