SyllabusTheNameoftheCourse:ComparativeLiteratureTheTypeoftheCourse:SeElectiveCourseforStudentsMajoringinChineseLanguageandLiteratureTheModeTypeofExam:CheckthroughAcademicPaperTheObjectoftheCourse:SophomoreTheUndergraduateMajor:ChineseLanguageandLiteratureHoursOURS/Credits:REDITS364/2Purpose:ThepurposeofthiscourseistointroducethehistoryandcurrentstageofComparativeLiterature,whosesubjectmattersandmethodologywillbeintroducedandpracticedtransculturally.Thecoursewillcoverthematology,genology,imagology,andtheoryoftranslation.Thepurposeofthecourseistobroadenstudents’perspectives,cultivatetheirinterdisciplinaryconsciousness,cultivatetheirabilitytodoscientificresearch,andelevatetheirhumanisticliteracy.AsoneofprofessionalobligatorycoursesforpostgraduatestudentsmajoringinComparativeLiterature,Aesthetics,andLiteraryTheory,thiscourseisthebasiccourseofthestudentsmajoringinChineselanguageandliteraturestudent.Thecoursewillintroducethedevelopmentandcurrentsituationofcomparativeliteraturethroughreadingclassicalarticlesbysomeofthegreatestscholarsinthehistoryof20thcentury,therangerangingfromReneWellekthroughoJacquesDerrida.Themainfeatureofthiscourseisthetransculturalperspectivewiththeintensiveanalysis,theinterdisciplinarysynthesisbasedonthetextualinterpretations,andtheaspirationfortheuniversalisminthecriticalspecifications.Furthermore,thesubjectinthisclasswillincreasetheinterestofstudents,andwillhelptheminfurthercourselearningandculturalpractices.Requirement:Thiscourseaskhelpsstudentstogetanoverviewofhistoricallandscapesrelatedtoliterarytheoryandliteraryhistory,Chineseandforeignalikewhileitteachesthemtoappreciate,analyze,judge,andreflectontheliterarytextsfromthetransculturalperspectives.Relatedcourse:HistoryofChineseLiterature,,HistoryofForeignLiterature,Linguistics,LiteraryTheory,andClassicReadings.KeyPoints:TheOriginofComparativeliteratureanditstendencies;thelandscapesofworldliteratureandcontemporaryperspectives;transculturalapproachestoliteratureandthetaskofcomparativestudies;French,AmericanandChineseSchoolforliterarystudies;thematic,morphological,genological,andiconologicalstudies;translationstudiesandanewparadigmforcomparativeliterature.TheDifficultPoints:Thetheoreticalpresumptionsforcomparativeliterature;thephilosophicalfoundationsforvariousschoolsincomparativestudies;model,genre,andculturalmeme;therelationshipbetweenliteraryhistoryandcomparativeliterature;closereading,distantreading,andliterarystudiesintheageofdigitalhumanities.MethodologyandMeans:Combinationofonlineandoffline;Mediaconvergence;lecturesanddiscussion.Evaluation:Participation20%,Mid-exam20%,F(xiàn)inalExam60%.Finalscore:basedonpaper,proposal,ortranslationrelatedtothecourseandtopicsEssentialProgram:ContentsandprocessContents
