意為“而;然而”。2)

引導時間狀語從句,

意為“當……時候;在……期間”,強調某一段時間內主句和從句的動作在同一時期發(fā)生,while從句中的動詞通常是持續(xù)性動詞。3)引導讓步狀語從句,

意為“雖然,盡管”,多放在句首。2.although的用法

although為從屬連詞,意為“雖然,盡管”,引導讓步狀語從句。注意以下兩點:although在多數情況下可與though通用,在正式文中,though可用于一種不以其為首的讓步狀語從句,須以形容詞、名詞或動詞(原形)等開頭。整個從句須置于主句之前。這時although不能替換though。e.g.Tiredthoughhewas,hewentonworking.他雖然累,但還是繼續(xù)工作。2)although所引導的從句不能與but,and,so,however等連用,但可以和副詞yet,still等連用。1.Iwasgoingtowriteyoualetter,butIlostyouraddress.2.However,IcandiscussthisallwhenIseeyou.3.Hesaidthatitwasso;hewasmistaken,

但二者用法有些區(qū)別。1.從語義上看,but所表示的是非常明顯的對比,轉折的意味較however要強。2.從語法上看,but是個并列連詞,而

however是個連接副詞。3.從語序上看,but總是位于它所引出的分句之首,而however卻可位于分句之首、之中或之尾。4.從標點上說,but之后一般不使用逗號,
