1.1InterlingualtranslationINTERLINGUALTRANSLATIONmaybedefinedasabilingualmediatedprocessofcommunication,whichordinarilyaimsattheproductionofaTL[targetlanguage]textthatisfunctionallyequivalenttoanSLtext[sourcelanguage].OttoHaseloffsaid,anidealcommunicativeisrareintranslating.Becausetheuseoftwonaturallanguagesaswellastheemploymentofthemediumofthetranslatornecessarilyandnaturallyresultinachangeofmessageduringthecommunicativeprocess.Atthepoint,theauthordistinguishthechangesbetween"intentional"and"unintentional"changesaffectingthetranslation.
