感恩節(jié)是北美洲獨有的節(jié)日，始于1621年。1863年，美國總統(tǒng)林肯將它定為國家假。并且規(guī)定每年11月的第四個星期四為美國的感恩節(jié)。

感恩節(jié)有四天假期。借著長假，很多人都會趕回家慶祝佳節(jié)，所以，美國感恩節(jié)的熱鬧程度絕不亞于中國的中秋節(jié)。

美國感恩節(jié)(Thanksgiving)由來:1620年，“五月花”號船滿載英國國內(nèi)清教徒到達美洲。移民處在饑寒交迫之中，冬天過去時，移民只剩下50人。這時，心地善良的印第安人給移民送來了生活必需品，教他們狩獵、捕魚種植玉米、南瓜。在印第安人的幫助下，移民們獲得了豐收，在歡慶豐收的日子，按照宗教傳統(tǒng)習俗，移民規(guī)定了感謝上帝的日子——感恩節(jié)。感恩節(jié)食物
