ShewasborninVirginia,WillaCathermovedattheageofninewithherfamilytoaprairiestateoftheWest-Nebraska.Oldwestthusbecomesinmostofhernovelsthecenterofmoralreferenceagainstwhichmodernexistenceismeasured.
