silkroadXi'anistheeasternendoftheSilkRoad.Thecityhasmorethan3,100yearsofhistory,andwasknownasChang'an(traditionalChinese:長(zhǎng)安).TheBellTower,isastatelytraditionalbuilding,thatmarksthegeographicalcenteroftheancientcapital.FromthisimportantlandmarkextendEast,South,WestandNorthStreets,connectingtheTowertotheEast,South,WestandNorthGatesoftheCityWalloftheMingDynasty.

Thewoodentower,whichisthelargestandbest-preservedofitskindinChina,is36metershigh.Itstandsonabrickbase35.5meterslongand8.6metershighoneachside.DuringtheMingDynasty,XianwasanimportantmilitarytowninNorthwestChina,afactthatisreflectedinthesizeandhistoricsignificanceofitstower.

Thetowerwasbuiltin1384byEmperorZhuYuanzhangasawaytodominatethesurroundingcountrysideandprovideearlywarningofattackbyrivalrulers.Thetowerhasthreelayersofeavesbutonlytwostories.Inside,astaircasespiralsup.Thegreybricksofthesquarebase,thedarkgreenglazedtilesontheeaves,gold-platingontheroofandgildedcolorpaintingmakethetoweracolorfulanddramaticmasterpieceofMing-stylearchitecture.Inadditiontoenhancingthebeautyofthebuilding,thethreelayersofeavesreducetheimpactofrainonthebuilding.

Asthesymboloftheold-line（歷史悠久的）Xi’an,BigWildGoosePagodaisawell-preservedancientbuildingandaholy（神圣的）placeforBuddhists（佛教徒）.ThefullnameofBigWildGoosePagoda”EnWildGoosePagodaTemple“（慈恩寺大雁塔）,located4kilometersawayfromXi’anareaoftheGraceTemple(慈恩寺),builtin652AD,accordingtolegendGraceTempleisthefirstabbotpresidedovertheTangSancang(唐三藏)fromIndiaafterthereturnofthecountry,inordertoworshipandstorageclassicalsanskrit（梵文經(jīng)典）andbuddhistrelics（佛像舍利）todesignandbuiltpersonally.Themusicalfountain

TheTerraCottaWarriorsAndhorses

TheTerraCottaWarriorsAndhorsesisregardedasoneoftheeightgreatestwondersintheworld,andasightnottobemissedbyanyvisitortoChina.In1987,itwaslistedasoneoftheworldculturalheritagesbyUNESCO(聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文組織).AsoneofthemostfamousscenicspotsinChina,itattractslotsoftouristsbothathomeandfromabroad.Themuseumcoversanareaof16,300squaremeters，andisdividedintothreesections：No.1Pit(坑),No.2Pit,No.3Pitrespectively.Theyweretaggedintheorderoftheirdiscoveries.Therearecolumns(塔器)ofsoldiersatthefront,followedbywarchariots（戰(zhàn)車(chē)）attheback.HuaMountain
