外研版九年級(jí)下冊(cè)Module2Unit2WhatdoIlikebestaboutschool教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)Objectives:ToenablestudentstoexpresstheiropinionsaboutschoolTopracticeusingcomparativeandsuperlativeadjectivesTodeveloplistening,speaking,reading,andwritingskillsMaterials:WhiteboardandmarkersPrintedhandoutswiththetopic-relatedquestions(optional)AlaptoporadevicewithinternetaccessformultimediaresourcesProcedure:Warm-upGreetthestudentsandengageinbriefsmalltalkabouttheirfavoritesubjectsoractivitiesinschool.Askopen-endedquestionssuchas“Whatsubjectsdoyouenjoythemostinschool?”or“WhydoyoulikestudyingEnglish?”IntroductionWritetheunittopic“WhatdoIlikebestaboutschool?”ontheboard.Askstudentstobrainstormreasonswhytheylikegoingtoschool.Listtheirresponsesontheboard.ListeningActivityPlayanaudiorecordingorvideoclipthatfeaturesdifferentstudentsdiscussingtheirfavoriteaspectsofschool.Provideaworksheetwithrelatedquestionsforstudentstoanswerwhilelistening.Theyshouldnotedownthereasonseachstudentprovides.Discusstheanswersasaclass,allowingstudentstosharetheirfindings.VocabularyandGrammarPracticeIntroduceandreviewcomparativeandsuperlativeadjectivestodescribepreferences.Writecomparativeandsuperlativeformsofadjectivesontheboardasexamples(e.g.,good,better,best).Giveexamplesrelatedtoschools(e.g.,“Myschoolisbiggerthanyours,”“Mathisthemostchallengingsubject”).Askstudentstoworkindividuallyorinpairstocompleteasetofsentencesusingtheprovidedadjectivesincomparativeorsuperlativeforms.Providefeedbackandreviewthecorrectanswerswiththeclass.SpeakingActivityDividetheclassintopairsorsmallgroups.Askstudentstodiscussandcomparetheirownschoolexperiencesandpreferences,usingthecomparativeandsuperlativeadjectivestheylearned.Encouragestudentstousethetargetlanguageasmuchaspossible.Monitorthediscussionsandprovideassistancewhenneeded.WritingActivityInstructstudentstowriteashortparagraph(5-7sentences)abouttheirfavoriteaspectsofschool.Remindthemtousecomparativeandsuperlativeadjectivestoexpresstheirpreferences.Circulateintheclassroomtoofferguidanceandsupportifnecessary.Optionally,askafewstudentstosharetheirparagraphswiththeclass.Wrap-upRecapthemainpointsdiscussedduringtheclass.Askstudentstoreflectonwhattheyhavelearnedandshareanynewinsightsorobservations.GroupDiscussionDividetheclassintosmallgroupsandassigneachgroupaspecificaspectofschoollife,suchasextracurricularactivities,teachers,facilities,orfriends.Instructstudentstodiscussandsharetheiropinionsabouttheirassignedtopicwithintheirgroup.Encouragestudentstousecomparativeandsuperlativeadjectivestoexpresstheirpreferences.Afterthediscussion,haveeachgrouppresenttheirfindingstothewholeclass,highlightingthepositiveaspectsandcomparingthemwithothergroups’findings.ReadingComprehensionProvidestudentswithashortreadingpassageaboutastudent’sfavoriteaspectofschool.Askcomprehensionquestionsaboutthepassage,requiringstudentstoanalyzethetextandextractspecificdetails.Discusstheanswersasaclass,encouragingstudentstojustifytheirresponses.PairWork:InterviewPairupstudentsandaskthemtotaketurnsinterviewingeachotherabouttheirfavoriteaspectsofschool.Provideasetofguidingquestions,suchas“Whatsubjectdoyouenjoythemostandwhy?”or“Whichextracurricularactivitydoyoufindthemostinteresting?”Encouragestudentstoactivelylistentotheirpartners’responsesandaskfollow-upquestions.MultimediaPresentationAskstudentstoprepareashortmultimediapresentationshowcasingtheirfavoriteaspectofschool.TheycanusePowerPoint,GoogleSlides,oranyotherpresentationsoftwaretocreateslideswithimages,text,andaudio/videorecordings.Allocatetimeforeachstudenttopresenttheirtopictotheclass,usingcomparativeandsuperlativeadjectivestoexpresstheirpreferences.ExtensionActivity:LettertothePrincipalInstructstudentstoimaginetheyarewritingalettertotheprincipaloftheirschool,expressingtheiropinionsaboutwhattheylikebestaboutschool.Encouragestudentstousepersuasivelanguage
