ThisCodeisformulatedwithaviewtoimprovingtheprocessdesignofsteelpipecoating

plant,topromotingtheprocesstechnologyandequipmentforsteelpipeplantsandtopropellingthe

technicalupgradingandrestructuringofsteelpipecoatingplantsinChinainaccordancewiththe

nationalpolicyforiron&steelindustrialdevelopment.

ThisCodeisapplicableforprocessdesignofnewinstallation,revampingandexpansionof

externalpolyethylene,polypropylene,fusionbondedepoxy(FBE)coatinglineforsteelpipes,as

wellasinternalfusionbondedepoxyandbi-componentliquidcoatinglineforsteelpipes.

3BasicRequirements

3.0.1

Thetypeofsteelpipecoatinglineshallbedeterminedbasedontheproducttype,product

sizesandproductioncapacityspecifiedintheproductmix.

3.0.2

Thesteelpipecoatingplantshouldbelocatedadjacenttothefeedstockpipeplantorthe

coatedpipeuser.

3.0.3Thesteelpipecoatingplantmustnotbelocatedinresidentialareaorinpublicbuildingsused

forculture,education,medicalcare&healthpurpose,etc.

3.0.4Thesteelpipecoatingplantmustbeprovidedwithnecessarysafety&hygienefacilitiesand

environmentalprotectionfacilities(ventilation,fumeexhaustingandcleaning).

3.0.5

Protectivepadshouldbeinsertedtoav6oiddirectcontactbetweenthepipetransport

equipmentandthepipe.

3.0.6

Energy-efficientproductionprocessandgovernment-recommendedwater-efficientorenergy-efficient

equipmentshallbeusedforthesteelpipecoatingplant.專用

4SelectionandStorageofIncomingMaterials

4.0.1

Thequalityofseamlesssteelpipesandweldedsteelpipesshallcomplywiththerelevant

currentnationalstandardsandthepurchasespecifications.

4.0.2

Polyethylene,polypropyleneandadhesiveshallmeetthefollowingrequirements:

Thepropertyofcoatingmaterialsshallmeettherequirementsoftherelevantcurrentnational

standardsandthepurchasespecifications.

Thecoatingmaterialsshallbestoredwithprovisionsagainstdampandimpuritiescontamination,

etc.,andthestoragefacilitiesshouldbedesignedinaccordancewiththecoatingmanufacturers

recommendations.

4.0.3

Bi-componentliquidpaintingshallmeetthefollowingrequirements:

Thepropertyofcoatingmaterialsshallmeettherequirementsoftherelevantcurrentnational

standardsandthepurchasespecifications.

Thecoatingmaterialstoragefacilitiesshallcomplywiththerelevantcurrentnationalstandards,

andshouldbedesignedinaccordancewiththecoatingmaterialmanufactu專用rersrecommendationsandshall

beusedinspecifiedratio.

4.0.4

Epoxypowdercoatingshallmeetthefollowingrequirements:

Thepropertyofcoatingmaterialsshallmeettherequirementsoftherelevantcurrentnational

standardsandthepurchaseorders.

Thecoatingmaterialstoragefacilitiesshallcomplywiththerelevantcurrentnationalstandards,

andshouldbedesignedinaccordancewiththepowdercoatingmanufacturersrecommendations.

Incasethesteelpipeiscoatedoninteriorsurfacefirstbeforeexteriorsurface,hightemperature

resistantcoatingmaterialshouldbeusedforinternalcoating.

5ProductionProcessofSteelPipeCoatingLine

5.1ProductionProcessofExternalCoatingLine

5.1.1

Fortheexternalcoatingline,annularextrusioncladding,sidewiseextrusionwrappingor

fusionbondedepoxy(FBE)powdercoatingprocessshallbeselecteddependingonthesizesand

typesoffeedstockpipesandcoatedpipes.

5.1.2

Externalshot(orsand)blastingandcoatingapplicationprocessshouldbecontinuous.

5.1.3

Productionprocessforexternalcoatinglineshallconsistofsurfacepreparation,application

andfinishingprocedure.

5.1.4

Surfacepreparationshallconsistofsteelpipecharging,cleaning,preheating,externalshot

blasting(orsandblasting),internalpurging,externalsurfacedusttreatment,manualinspection,

pipeendisolationandotherproceduresasmayberequired.

5.1.5

Forannularextrusioncladdingprocess,coatingapplicationshallconsistofheating,prime

epoxyspraying,adhesivecladding,polyethyleneorpolypropylenecladding,pipedetaching,water

coolingandotherproceduresasmayberequired.

5.1.6專用

Forsidewiseextrusionwrappingprocess,coatingapplicationshallconsistofheating,prime

epoxyspraying,adhesivewrapping,polyethyleneorpolypropylenewrapping,rollerrolling,pipe

detaching,watercoolingandotherproceduresasmayberequired.

5.1.7

Forfusionbondedepoxypowderspraycoating,coatingapplicationshallconsistofheating,

epoxypowderspraycoating,watercoolingandotherproceduresasmayberequired.

5.1.8

Measuresshallbetakentopreventthecoolingwaterfromenteringthecoatedareaalong

theinteriorwallofpipeduringwatercooling.

5.1.9

Finishingprocessshallconsistofresidualwaterremovalinpipe,manualinspection,leakage

detection,peelingtest,sampling,pipeendcleaning,marking,packaging,collectionandother

proceduresasmayberequired.

5.1.10

Forexternalpolyethyleneorpolypropylenecoating,aprocedureshouldbeprovidedtodry

theadhesivesandcoatingmaterials(polyethyleneorpolypropylene)priortocharging.

5.1.11

Negative-pressurecladdingshallbeusedforannularextrusioncladding.

5.1.12

Dryandcleancompressedairshallbeusedforspraycoatingoffusionbondedepoxy

5.2ProductionProcessofInternalCoatingLine

5.2.1

Fusionbondedepoxy(FBE)orbi-componentliquidcoatingprocessshallbeselectedfor

internalcoatinglinedependingonthedesiredtypeofcoatingproduct.

5.2.2

IncaseFBEpowderisusedforinternalcoatingandexternalcoatingisrequired,internal

coatingshallbeappliedbeforeexternalcoating.Incasebi-componentliquidisusedforinternal

coatingandexternalcoatingisrequired,externalcoatingshallbeappliedbeforeinternalcoating.

5.2.3

Productionprocessofinternalcoatinglineshallconsistofsurfacepreparation,coatingapplication

andfinishingprocedure.

Surfacepreparationshallconsistofsteelpipecharging,interiorsurfacecleaning,innerpurging,

manualinspection,pipeendisolationandotherproceduresasmayberequired.

5.2.5

Incasethepipediameterislargerthanorequalto500mm,theinteriorsurfaceshouldbe

cleanedbyinnershotblasting.

5.2.6

FBEpowdercoatingshallconsistofheating,epoxypowderspraycoating,curing,cooling

andotherproceduresasmayberequired.

5.2.7

Bi-componentliquidcoatingshallconsistofcoatingpreparation,filtering,purging,spray

coatingandotherproceduresasmayberequired.Incasethepipediameterislargerthanorequalto

200mm,thebi-componentliquidshouldbespraycoatedathighpressurewithoutair.

5.2.8

FinishingofFBEcoatingshallconsistofmanualinspection,sampling,marking,package,

collectionandotherprocedures(e.g.leakagedetection)asmayberequired.

5.2.9

Finishingofbi-componentliquidcoatingshallconsistofmanualinspection,solventpurging,

curing,sampling,off-lineinspection,marking,packaging,collectionandotherprocedures(e.g.leakage

detection)asmayberequired.

5.2.10

DryandcleancompressedairshallbeusedforspraycoatingofFBEpowderandbi-

componentliquid.

5.2.11

Incasetherelativehumidityofairisover85%,dehumidifyingprocedureshallbeincluded

insurfacepreparationandcoatingapplication.

5.2.12專用

Organicexhaustgasgeneratedduringthebi-componentliquidcoatingshallbecollected

andcleaned.

6EquipmentSelectionforSteelPipeCoatingLine

6.1EquipmentforExternalCoatingLine

6.1.1

Theentireexternalcoatinglineshallbeprovidedwithbasicautomationcontrol.

6.1.2

Automaticcleaningequipmentshouldbeusedforcleaningpriortoshot(orsand)blasting.

6.1.3

Preheatingequipmentthatwillnotcausecontaminationtothepipesurfaceandtemperature

measuringdeviceshallbeinstalledforpreheatingprocedurepriortoshot(orsand)blasting.

6.1.4

Equipmentforshot(orsand)blastingshallbeselectedaccordingtothefollowingrequirements:

Shot(orsand)blastingmachineshallbeabletostopshot(orsand)blastingandsend

alarmautomatically.

Shot(orsand)blastingmachineshallallowabrasiveseparation&screeningandrecycling.

Dustcollectionanddustfilteringsystemshallbeinstalled.

6.1.5

Dustcleaningdeviceshallbeinstalledtocollectandtreatthedustbeforecoating.

6.1.6

Externalsurfaceofthepipeshallbeheatedbypollution-freeheatsourcebeforecoating.

Theheatingsystemshallbeabletoheatthepipecontinuously,unifor專用mlyandfully,withoutcausing

contaminationoroxidizationtothecleanedsurfaces.Medium-frequencyinductionheatershouldbe

usedforheatingexternalsurfaceofthepipe.

6.1.7

Externalsurfacetemperatureofthepipebeforecoatingshallbecontinuouslymonitored

andrecordedbyinfraredsensororcontacttypethermocouple.Temperaturemonitoringinstrument

shallbeprovidedwithalarmdevice.

6.1.8

CoatingequipmentshallbeprovidedwithstaticFBEpowdersprayingdevice,powder

recyclingsystem,continuousairpressuremonitoringandalarmdevice.Thespraygunshallbe

individuallyadjustable.

6.1.9

Extrudershallfeatureadjustableoutput,adjustableextrusiontemperature,fullplasticizationand

uniformextrusion.Theextrudershouldbemovable.

6.1.10

Claddingdiewithnegativepressuredeviceshallbeusedforannularextrudingequipment,

andthecladdingdieshallbeabletoadjustthethicknessofannularmelt.

6.1.11

Flatdiewithadjustablemouthwidthandnipgapshallbeusedforsidewiseextrusion

wrapping.Pressingrollsfeaturingpressureandpositionadjustmentshallbeinstalled.

6.1.12

Dryingeq人人文庫uipmentbeforetheadhesiveandcoatingmaterials(polyethyleneorpolypropylene)

chargingdeviceshallfeatureadjustabledryingtemperature.

6.1.13

Pressure-adjustablepinchingdeviceshouldbeinstalledforcoatingprocedureincircular

Coatingequipmentshallbeprovidedwithwatercoolingdeviceforadequatecooling.

Finishinglineshallbeinstalledwithon-linepeelingtesterandleakagedetectorwhich

featuresalarmingandcontinuousvoltageadjustment.

6.1.16

Mechanicalequipmentshallbeinstalledforpipeendcleaningproceduretoremovethe

coatingatsteelpipeend.

6.1.17

Externalcoatingmarkingdeviceshallbeinstalledformarkingprocedure,andthemarking

machineshouldworkautomatically.

6.1.18

Externalcoatinglineshallbeprovidedwithexternalcoatingrepair/patchdevice.

6.2EquipmentforInternalCoatingLine

6.2.1

Theentireinternalcoatinglineshallbeprovidedwithbasicautomationcontrol.

6.2.2

Preheatingequipmentwhichwillnotcausecontaminationtopipesurfaceshallbeinstalled

beforetheinternalsurfacecleaningequipment,andtemperaturemeasuringdeviceshallbeinstalled.

6.2.3

Internalsurfacecleaningequipmentshallbeselectedaccordingtothefollowingrequirements:

Insideshotblastingmachineshouldbeinstalledincasethepipediameterislargerthanor
