ThereisaverybeautifulriverinParis.ItistheSeine,itrunsacrosstheCity,peopledrinkcoffee,chatonthebankintheday,atnight,theyenjoythebeautifulsceneryintheboat,songsfromtheriverflyintotheSkymadetherivermoreattractive,theSeineisafamoussymbolofFrance;onthewestcoastofpacificoceanthereliesthemodernCityShanghai,anottherriverwhichusedtobeaveryimportanttransportationrouterunsthroughthecenterofthecity,peoplerespectedandregarditasmother.Itisthesuzhouriver,butlbelievethatfewofyouwouldsitbesideit,peoplewillbescatteredbytheterriblesmellofwaterwhenwalkby.Ihavetosayitise*tremelydirty!AndweallknowthatalotofbeautifulriversintheworldalsoareSharingthesamefatewithsuzhouriver.

Manyhumanactivitiesandtheirby-productshavethepotentialtopollutewater.Pleasehavealookalongthebanksoftheriver,largeandsmallindustrialenterprisesdischargedirtywater,tonsofgarbagewerethrownintotheriver,thewatercontainedsomuchthatitcantcleanitself.ComparedwiththedramaticdevelopmentinmanysidesofShanghai,thesuzhouriverhasbecomeablackpointoftheappearanceofcity.

Fortunately,thegovernmenthascontrolthesituationnow,wearehappytoseesomepartsoftheriverhasbecomecleanagain,andweevencanfindfishsometime.
