WelcomeUnitListeningandSpeaking教學(xué)設(shè)計

I.UnitOverview

TheWelcomeUnitservesasanintroductiontothehighschoolEnglishlearningjourney.TheListeningandSpeakingsectionaimstohelpstudentsdevelopbasiclisteningandspeakingskills,buildconfidenceincommunicatinginEnglish,andgetfamiliarwithcommonclassroomlanguageandexpressions.

II.TeachingGoals

Toimprovestudents'listeningcomprehensionskillsinvariousclassroomsituations.

Toenablestudentstouseappropriateexpressionsforgreeting,introducingoneself,andasking/answeringsimplequestions.

Toencouragestudentstoparticipateactivelyinclassroomdiscussionsandinteractions.

Toenhancestudents'confidenceinusingEnglishtocommunicate.

IV.TeachingProcedures

A.Pre-classPreparation(5minutes)

Arrangetheclassroomtocreateacomfortableandinteractivelearningenvironment.Preparethenecessaryaudioequipmentandmaterials.

B.Warm-up(10minutes)

StarttheclasswithasimplegreetinginEnglish,suchas"Goodmorning/afternoon,everyone!"andaskstudentstorespond.Then,introducethetopicofthelessonandaskstudentsafewquestionstoactivatetheirpriorknowledgeandgetthemthinking,forexample:"Whatdoyouusuallysaywhenyoumeetsomeoneforthefirsttime?""HowdoyouintroduceyourselfinEnglish?"

C.Presentation(15minutes)

Presentthekeyvocabularyandphrasesrelatedtogreeting,self-introduction,andclassroomcommunicationonthewhiteboard,suchas"Hello,""Nicetomeetyou,""Mynameis...,""What'syourname?"etc.Explainthemeaningsandusagesoftheseexpressions.

Playtheaudiomaterialsforthelisteningpart.Pauseaftereachsegmentandaskstudentstoanswersomesimplequestionstochecktheirunderstanding.Guidestudentstonoticethepronunciationandintonation.

Modelthecorrectpronunciationandintonationwhenusingthetargetlanguage.Havestudentsrepeatafteryoutopractice.

D.Practice(20minutes)

Dividestudentsintopairsorsmallgroups.Havethempracticegreetingandintroducingthemselvestoeachotherusingthelearnedexpressions.Encouragethemtovarytheirresponsesandaddmoredetails.Walkaroundtheclassroomtomonitorandofferhelpandfeedback.

2.Setupsomesimplerole-playsituations,suchasmeetinganewclassmateorintroducingoneselftotheteacher.Eachgrouptakesturnstoactoutthescenes.Duringtherole-plays,studentsshouldusethetargetlanguageasmuchaspossible.Providepromptsandcuestohelpstudentsifneeded.

3.Aftertherole-plays,selectafewgroupstoperforminfrontoftheclass.Therestofthestudentscanobserveandgivefeedback.Highlightthegoodpointsandareasthatneedimprovement.

E.ExtensionandApplication(15minutes)

Presentsomeadditionalreal-lifescenarioswherestudentsneedtouseEnglishforcommunication,suchasinanEnglishcluborduringaninternationalexchange.Havestudentsdiscusshowtheywouldhandlethesesituationsandwhatlanguagetheywoulduse.

Encouragestudentstocomeupwiththeirowncreativescenariosandactthemout.Thishelpsthemthinkcriticallyandapplythelearnedlanguageinnewcontexts.

Providesomechallengingquestionsortasksrelatedtothetopic,suchasaskingstudentstointroduceaclassmatetoanotherpersonusingspecificinformation.Thispromoteshigher-levelthinkingandlanguageuse.

F.SummaryandReflection(10minutes)

Summarizethekeypointsofthelesson,includingtheimportantvocabulary,phrases,andcommunicationskills.ReinforcetheimportanceofusingEnglishconfidentlyinclassroomanddailylife.

Askstudentstoreflectontheirlearninginthislesson.Whatdidtheyfindeasy?Whatwaschallenging?Whatskillsorknowledgedidtheygain?Encouragestudentstosharetheirthoughtsandexperiences.

G.HomeworkAssignment(5minutes)

Assignhomeworkthatrequiresstudentstopracticethegreetingandself-introductionexpressionswiththeirfamilyorfriendsoutsideofclass.

Askstudentstoprepareashortself-introductiontopresentinthenextclass.Theycanincludemorepersonalinformationanddetailstomakeitmoreinteresting.
