day

his

but
“I
told
my
dad
there
needs
to
be
a
safety
gate
for
the
sliding-glass
door,”
said
Trujillo.
He
searched
the
Internet
to
see
if
there
was
such
a
device.
No
other
safety
gates
on
the
market
could
fit
in
a
sliding-glass
door.
So
the
boy
decided
to
invent
one
himself.
The
13-year-old
did
something
most
children
wouldn't
have
the
patience
to
do:
He
read
a
book
on

and
attended
a
patenting
class
at
a
college
near
his
home.
After
three
years
of
studies
and
hundreds
of
experiments,
he
finally
made
it.
“It
can
actually
save
lives
and
help
someone's
family,”
Trujillo
said.

have

follow
it

because
