One 11-year-old boy, Liangliang, crosses the river every school day. 亮亮,一個11歲男孩,每天過河上學。 1)11-year-old 構(gòu)成一個復合形容詞,修飾名詞boy。請注意其中的year之后沒有復數(shù)詞尾-s。這一構(gòu)詞結(jié)構(gòu)較為常見。例如: a four-day trip 一個四天的旅行 a 30-page book 一本30頁的書 a three-room house 一
15、個三間屋的房子,2)cross 作動詞用,“穿過,越過”的意思。主要表示在物體表面上橫穿。如橫過馬路、過橋、過河等,與go across同義。例如: Be careful when you cross the street. 過馬路時要小心。,辨析 cross, across與through (1) across是介詞,有“橫跨,橫穿,穿越”之意。 例如: The Great Green Wall is across the northwest ofChina. 綠色長城橫跨中國西北。 (2) through是介詞,“在之中,透過”的意思,主要表示從物體內(nèi)部穿過。如穿過森林、隧洞等。例如: T
