Unit12 Weather, Travel and Transport （天氣、旅游與交通） 1、 Thank you for joining CCTVs Around The World show. Today, were in Australia. Its a beautiful, sunny day! There are many people here on vacation. Some are taking photos. Others are lying on the beach. Look at this group of people playing beach volleyball. They look cool! I am surprised they can play in this heat. This is a very interesting place. The people are really very relaxed. 2、 Lin Feis home is about 10 kilometers from school. He gets up at six oclock every day, showers and has a quick breakfast. Then he leaves for school at around six thirty. First, he rides his bicycle to the bus station. That takes about ten minutes. Then the early bus takes him to school. The bus ride usually takes about 25 minutes. 3、 How do students around the world get to school? In North America, most students go to school on the school bus. Some students also walk or ride bikes to school. In other parts of the world, things are different. In Japan, most students take trains to school, although others also walk or ride their bikes. In China, it depends on where you are. In big cities, students usually ride bikes to school or take buses. And in places where there are rivers and lakes, like Hongshanhu and Kaishandao, students usually go to school by boat. That must be a lot more fun than taking a bus! 4、 Class 9 had a great time on the school trip. They went to Blue Water Aquarium for the day. First they visited the Visitors Center and watched a movie about sharks. Then they watched a dolphin show. After that, they went to the Outdoor Pool and saw a big octopus. After lunch, they went to the Gift Shop and bought lots of gifts. Finally, tired but happy, they took the bus back to school. At the end of the day, the science teacher was very happy because the class monitor cleaned the bus after the trip. 5、 Dear Tom, How was your day off? Did you have fun camping? I didnt have a very fun day. I visited my cousins. It rained all day. In the morning, I stayed in the house and watched DVDs, played computer games and read. In the afternoon, Uncle Martin put some of his old things out in the yard and had a yard sale! However, no one came to the sale because the weather was so bad. One thing that is not expensive in France, however, is the wine! Most people in France have learned English. But many people dont like to speak English, especially in Paris. So unless you speak French yourself, its best to travel with someone who can translate things for you. 7、 Dear Ace Travel, My family and I want to take a trip this summer somewhere in the east of China. I hope you can provide me with some information about the kinds of vacations that your firm can offer. We would like to travel to an exciting place, and we dont mind how far we have to go. It has to be a place where we can do lots of exercise； we especially love hiking and swimming, but any kind of exercise is fine. We also need to stay in an inexpensive hotel. It would be nice if our hotel had rooms with kitchens so we could save money by cooking our own meals. The room needs to be big enough for three people. Also, wed like to stay at a place with a big pool or somewhere near the ocean. Could you please give me some suggestions for vacation spots? I have so many chores to do today. I have to do my homework, of course. I started about an hour ago, but I havent finished. He loves talking and I love listening to him. He started telling me about all of the chores he had to do when he was a kid. He had to get up at 5am to chop wood and light the fire for breakfast.
