When you are asked who is the most beautiful person in this world, would you still say your mother as same as what you said in your childhood. Wish that the winkles on her face not only show her aged but also make you feel grateful for what she has done. I dont know how great a mother can be who nearly tolerant everything bad her son has done. A few years ago, I have watched a teleplay called My Ugly Mother which left a deep impression to me and moved me a lot. Its a good resource to get well known to the character of the mother in China, especially Chinese rural women because this TV play is good enough to serve as a typical epitome of Chinese rural women. The whole story talks about and main characters in itIt talks about a touching story happened in a county where the old mother try to find his son Da Chun and live with him. What must be added is that the old mother is so ugly, otherwise the son inherits his father who is handsome. 1. Main characters and plots of the story The first act is that a little girl read a letter in which the son Da Chun tells his mother that he married a city girl and his weeding ceremony is soon coming, however the money for the ceremony was paid by his wife. The son let his mother not present. The old mother was so excited to hear the news, so she decided to go the city to attend the banquet and send money to her son which she sent her old house to get. She hoped her son can be equal with his wife in their later marriage life. Unfortunately, she never thought about it that her 2son who she nearly devote her life to pretended he acquainted his mother just for her directions asking. What a heartbroken woman she was at that moment. The boy she has brought up said she was just a stranger. She felt depressed and bumped into a car by accident. The owner was very angry for her careless of watching the road at beginning, but when he see the first sight of the old lady, he was shocked by her appearance which was nearly as same as his lost mother. He was so excited that he invited she to his building to live for a short time. The old mother wanted to refused the mans invitation because of no relation between them, after thought over about the situation she might faced, she made a decision tostay at the home of this man who was a rich businessman as a servant. Regarding her as a godmother, this businessman treated her very well. At the same time Da Chun tried to find his mother frantically.Da Chun was afraid of his wife because he education background and salary were inferior to his wife. There are many times he tried to tell the fact to his wife that his mother was still alive, but he had courage, every time when the words was nearly on the tip of his tongue, he just changed to another topic. He worried his mother where she could go in a unfamiliar city. One day he met his mother in the street by accident, he found where he lived was across the street from the place his mother lived. 3 Day by day, the son of Da Chun was born, because Da Chun took care of baby at home and the young couple had to go to work, theres a great deal of conflicts occurring between them. Although the old mother felt disappointed to her son, she still decided to go to his sons home to look after the her grandson as a baby-sitter, in spite of the wealthy life in the businessmans house. 2. Highlight There was a few fragments made people burst into tears, what impressed me a lot was when the old mother made up her mind to go to his sons home. Her daughter in laws made an agreement with her which consisted a lot insulting tips, such as no abuse the baby, no eating babys food, no stealing and so on. After came back into his small room the mother choked with sobs. She teared the agreements into pieces and put them into the mouth to swallow down. The moment when I saw it I couldnt help to cry. What a great grievance the mother has stood. Whats more, the wife of Da Chun bewared of the old lady as a thief, she nearly locked everything in the room. It seemed a shame to the old lady, she tolerant everything she met because she love the son dearly and had mercy on her little grandson, even he did the worst thing hurt her a lot. III.Conclusion This is a typical Chinese mom, specially in the village. It seems that when they became a mother, they lose themselves. Maybe they are illiteracy, they dont know 4something of modern times, they are not fashion, they are not very clean and tidy, they are not good at communicating.
