The Analysis of Teaching Material 過去進行時是人教版新目標八年級上冊第五單元的重點語法，同時也是初中階段學生學習到的第四種時態(tài)。主要是表達過去在某一具體時間或者一段時間正在發(fā)生的活動。對于過去進行時的學習，一方面可以讓學生復習現在進行時的應用；另一方面讓學生來對比這兩種時態(tài)的區(qū)別，從而更好地掌握住過去進行時。而第五單元中，又引出了when和while引導的時間狀語從句在過去進行時中的應用！從而使得學生必須能夠正確應用它們。II. The Analysis of Students八年級的學生對于現在進行時和一般過去時的學習已經有相當長的一段時間了，所以會有遺忘的現象。而現在學習了過去進行時，將是這兩種時態(tài)的糅合。對于新語法知識的學習，必須讓學生吃透它的定義，了解其應用范圍。所以，教學過程中要已基礎為主，伴隨大量練習讓學生操練，從而達到鞏固新知的目的。一邊讓學生來復習現在進行時和一般過去時，鞏固舊識；一邊也可以讓學生接觸新的知識，提高英語學習水平。III. Then according to their answers, make proper comments.Step 2. PresentationShow the PPT to the students and make them learn about the definition of Past Progressive Tense. Meanwhile, ask them to pay enough attention to the time adverbials. Then, give them enough time to watch the structures to know its different sentence patterns. Ask students to focus on the changes between different sentence patterns. Then the teacher helps the students make a summary.Step 3 PracticeFirstly, ask the students to look at the picture and make sure they remember what those students are doing. Then create the situation which happened three days ago.Secondly, make a sample for the students and then invite some students to answer those questions in front of the class. Meanwhile, correct mistakes if any.Step 4 ConsolidationFirst, show five small pictures to the students.Second, lead the students to get enough information from the pictures and know what they are doing.Third, divide those pictures into five different sections to compare present progressive tense with past progressive tense. After they answer the question, make proper comments. Then finish the rest of the exercises.Step 7 TranslationPrepare six sentences for the students and ask them to put them into English. Give them four minutes to do the exercises. After that, invite six students to read what they wrote to the whole class.
