Tonight,more than 200 years after a former conoly won the right to determine its own destiny to perfect our union moves forward.It moves forward because of you.It moves forward because you reaffired the spirit that triumps over war an despression,the spirit th
2、at has lifted the spirit from the depths of despair to the great heights of hope.The belief that while each of us will pursue our own individual dreams.We are an American family and we will rise and fall together an one nation,and as one people.Tonight in this election,you, the American people remin
3、ded us that while our road has been hard,while our journey has been long,we have picked ourselves up,we have our way back and we know that in our hearts that for the United States of American the best id yet to come.I want to thank every American who participated in this election.Whether you voted f
4、or the first time, or you waited in line for a long time(by the way we have to fix that. Whether you pounded the pavement or picked up the phone,Whether you held an obama sign or a Romney sign,you made your voice heard and you mada a difference. I just spoke Governor Romney,and i congratulated him a
5、nd Ryan on a hard fought campaign. We may have battled firecely,but it is only because we love this country deeply and we care so strong about its future.From George and lenore,to their son mitt,the Romney family has chosen to give back to American through their public service,and that is a legacy w
6、e honor and applaud tonight.In the weeks ahead i also look forward to sitting down with Governor Romney, to figure out where we can work together to move this country forword. I want to thank my friend and partner of the last four years,American happy warrior the best vice President you could hope f
7、or :Joe Briden.And i wouldnt be the man today without the woman who agreed to marry me 20 years ago,let me say this publicly:zml,i have never loved you more,i have never been prouder to watch the rest of the American fall in love with you too as our nations first lady.Sasha and Malia,before our ever
8、y eyes,youre growing up to become two smart、beautiful young women just like your mom.And i am so proud of you,guys.But i will say for now one dog is probably enough. To the best campaign team and volunteers in the history of politics,the best ,best ever.Some of you were new in this time around and s
9、ome of you have been at my side since the very beginning,but all of you are family.No matter what you do or where you come from here,you will carry the memory of the history we mada together and you will have a lifelong appreciation of a greatful president. Thank for your believing all the way throu
10、gh every hill,through every valley,you lifted me up the whole way and i will always be greatful for everything that you have done and all the incredible work that youve put in. I know that political campaigns can sometimes seem small even silly,and that provides plenty of fo dder of the cynics who t
11、ell that politics are nothing more than a contest of egos or the domain of special interests.But if you ever get the chance to talk to folks who turned out at our rallies and crowded along the rope line at a high school gym or saw folks working at a campaign office at some tiny country far away from
12、 home, you will discover something else. you will hear the determination in the voice of a young field(戰(zhàn)場(chǎng),運(yùn)動(dòng)場(chǎng),活動(dòng)現(xiàn)場(chǎng)) organizer(organise whos working his way through college and want to make sure that every child has that some opportunity.You will hear the pride in the voice of a volunteer who is goin
13、g door to door because her brother was finally hired when the local auto plant added another shift. you will hear the deep patriotism in the voice of a military spouse whos working the phone late at night to make sure that on one fights for this country ever has to fight for a job,or a roof over the
14、ir head when they come home.That why we do this, thats what politics can be,thats why elections matter.Its not small,its big,its important. Democracy in a nation of 300 million,can be noisy、messy and complicated.We have our own opinions,each of us has deeply held beliefs and when wo go through tough
15、 times,when we make big decisions as a country,it necessary stirs passions it stirs up controversy.That wont change after tonight and it shouldnt.These arguements we have are a mark of our liberty and we can never forget that as we speak just for a chance to argue about the issues about matter, the
16、chance to cast their ballots like we did today.But despite all our differences, most of us share certain hopes for Americans future.we want our kids to grow up in a country where they access to the best schools and best teachers.A country that lives up to its legacy as the goble leader in technology
17、 and discovery and innovation.With all,the new jobs and new buniness that follow.We want our children live in American that isnt burdende by debt that isnt weakened by inequality.that isnt weakened by the destructive power of a warming planet.We want to pass on a country that is safe and respected a
18、nd admired around the world.A nation that is defended by the most strongest military on earth and the best troops on this world has ever known.But also a country that moves with confidence beyond this time of war, that will shape a peace that is built on freedom and dignity for every human beings.We
19、 believe in a generous America,in a compassionate America,ina tolerant America that open to the dream of a immigrants daughter who studies in our school and pledges to our flags.To the young boy from the south side of Chicago who sees a life beyond the street corner.To the furniture workers child in
20、 north Carolina who want to be a doctor or a scientist an engineer or an entrepreneur a diplomat even a president.Thats the future we hope for,the vision we share.That is where we need to go.Forward.Thats where we need to go. Now we will disagree, sometimes fiercely how to get there,as it has for mo
21、re than two centuries,progress will come fits and starts,its not always a straight line,its not always a smooth path.By itself the recognition we have common hopes and dreams wont end all the gridlock or solve all our problems or substitute for all the painstaking work for building our consensus and
22、 making the difficult compromises to move this country forward.But that common bond is where we must begin. Our economy is recovering.A decade of war is ending.A long campaign is now over.And whether i earned you vote or not ,i have listened to you, i have learned from you and you have made me a bet
23、tter president and with your stories and struggles. I return to the White House,more determined and more inspired about the work there is to do and the future lies ahead.Tonight you voted for action not politics as usual.You elected us to focus on you jobs,not ours.And in the coming weeks and months
24、,i am look forward to reaching out and working with leaders of both parties to meet the challenges we can only solve together,reducing our deficit,reforming our tax code,fixing our immigration system,free ourselves from foreign oil. weve got more work to do!But that doesnt mean your work is done.The
25、 role of citizen in our democracy does not end with your vote.American has never been about what we can do for us,its about what can be done by us together through the hard and frustrating but necessary work of self government.This is the principle we were founded on.This country has more wealth tha
26、n any one else,but that is not what makes us rich. We have the most powerful military in history,but that is not what makes us strong.Our university,our culture are all the envy of the world,but that is not what keep the world coming to our shores.What makes America exceptinal are the bonds that hol
27、d together the most diverse nation on earth,the belief that our destiny is share that this country only works when we except certain obligations to one another and the future generations so that the freedom which so many Americans have fought for and died for comes with respinsibilities as well as r
28、ights and among these are love,and charity,and duty ,and patriotism.Thats what makes America great. I am hopeful tonight,because i have seen the spirits at work in America.I have seen it in the family buniness whose owners would rather cut their own pay than lay off their neighbors and in the worker
29、s who would rather cut back their hours than see a friend lose in a job.I have seen it in the soldiers who reenlist after losing a limb and in those SEALS that charged up the stairs into darkness and danger,because they know there was a buddy behind them waching their back.I have seen it on the shor
30、es of New Jersey and New York .Where leaders from every party and level of goverment have swept aside their differences to help a community rebuild from the wreckage of a terrible strom.And i saw it just t he other day in Mentor,Ohio,where the father told the story of his 8-year-old daughter whose l
31、ong battle with leukemia nearly cost their family everything had it not been for health care reform passing just a few months before the insurance company was about to stop paying for her care.I had an opportunity to not just talk to the father but meet this incredible daughter of his.And when he sp
32、oke to the crowd,listening to that fathers story,every parents in that room had tears in their eyes because we knew that little girl could be our own.And i know that every American wants her future to be just as bright.Thats who we are. Thats the country im so proud to lead as you president.And toni
33、ght,despite all the hardship weve been through,despite all the frustrations of Washington,ive never been more hopeful about our futyre,ive never been more hopeful about America.And i ask you to sustain that hope.Im not talking about blind optimism,the kind of hope that just ignores the enormity of t
34、he tasks ahead or the road blocks that stand in our path.Im not talking about the wishful idealism that allows us to just sit on the sidelines or shirk from a fight.I have always believe that hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists,despite all the evidence to the contrary ,thats somethings better awaits us so long as we have the courage t
