9、tion and maintenance. It is therefore essential that this operating manual is read prior to installation and commissioning by the fitters and the responsible technicians/ operators, and must always be available at the operating location of the machine.1.1.UseThe 51 - 550 series gear pumps described

10、in these operating manual, henceforth called Feed pumps“ or Pumps“, are only suitable for conveying lubricating liquids that do not have a cor-rosive effect on the pump materials used (Section 1.3. Any liquid to be pumped is hereinafter referred to simply as the “me-dium”.If you require further info

11、rmation that is beyond the scope of this operating manual, please contact Scherzinger Pump Technolo-gy. If you require help, please specify precisely the pump type and series number for which you require the information. The pump type (Typ, year of manufacture (Bj and serial number (Nr. can be found

12、 on the name plate (example, see Figure .Product informationThis operating manual applies to the sizes of type 51, 76, 101, 151, 251, 351, 451 and 551 with pump mount and coupling or with pump mount, coupling and motor from June 2003 onwards, manufactured by Ernst Scherzinger GmbH & Co KG

13、, 78120 Furtwangen, Germany.The pumps are numbered consecutively. The number index (serial numbers starts at zero each year.The title page of this operating manual displays the issue date and the operating manual edition.The motor pumps described in this operating manual conform to the applicable EC

19、n the pump must be complied with and be maintained in a clearly readable condition.2.2.Staff qualification and trainingThe operational, maintenance, inspection and assembly staff must evidence the appropriate qualifica-tions for these works. Areas of responsibility, competencies and monitoring of th

20、e staff must be pre-cisely regulated by the operator. If the personnel do not have the necessary knowledge, they must be trained and instructed accordingly. This can be implemented, if necessary, by the manufacturer / sup-plier on behalf of the machine operator. In addition, the operator must ensure

21、 that the content of this operating manual is fully understood by the personnel.2.3.Dangers from non-compliance with safety instructionsNon-compliance with safety instructions can pose a danger not just to personnel, but also to the envi-ronment and machinery. Non-compliance with the safety instruct

29、 and shaft bearingsThe drive shaft is sealed to the outside by radial shaft sealing rings. A basic function radial shaftsealing ring is fitted in the normal models (Figure 4.6. An improved seal is provided for special opera-ting conditions (e.g. suction height > 3 m, higher media viscosity or inp

30、ut pressure up to 0.8 bar by adouble-lipped sealing ring or two radial shaft sealing rings mounted against each other (Figure 4.7:. Inthis case, the space between the seal lips is filled with grease suitable for the application.An dry running test for the internal radial shaft sealing rings as per D

31、IN EN 13463-5, Section 4.6.3,Appendix B, is not required as the lubricant cannot be topped up. The seals are constantly lubricatedby the medium. Dry running must be avoided (see Section 6.2.The outer radial shaft sealing ring (as shown in Figure 4.7 only transfers 5W into the pump shaft inextreme ca

32、ses during unlubricated operation. This temperature rise is discharged via the shaft to themedium and the environment. The temperature rise is significantly less than the temperature risecaused by frictional losses in the bearings and medium. A critical temperature rise is therefore not to beexpecte
