2、munication Requirement in their 1st/2nd year of study. ObjectivesThis course aims at fostering students competence in written expressions including general and practical writings through practice, commentary and discussion. Intended Learning OutcomesUpon completion of the subject, students will be a
3、ble to:master linguistic conventions in written Chinese to produce correct and precise writings for vocational purposes;apply relevant modes of thinking and presentation skills for presenting ideas for explanation, persuasion, argumentation both orally and literally;write various kinds of practical
4、writing in relation to business planning, promotion, administration and management; and translate message in relation to finance and investment, between English and Chinese, in different genres for communication and publicity. Subject Synopsis/ Indicative SyllabusIndicative Content:Organization of i
5、deas in a coherent manner for delivery of information or message, competence of translating message/information between English and Chinese for communication, Letter, report, press release for correspondence and publicity,accuracy and effectiveness in oral communications, presentation of power point
6、 on proposal or working plan, Teaching/Learning Methodology Interactive seminars with reading and writing exercises, teaching students various instructive Chinese communication skills, group discussion, presentation drills;Pro-class self study is required with related reading and writing exercises;T
