WarmingupLookattheopeningpage.Doyouhappentoknowtheplaceinthepicture?Whatwordscanyouthinkoftodescribeit?theGrandPrismaticSpringinYellowstoneNationalPark美國黃石國家公園大棱鏡泉美國黃石國家公園大棱鏡泉又稱大虹彩溫泉。它是美國最大,世界第三大的溫泉。黃石國家公園不僅棲息著熊和美洲野牛等很多野生動(dòng)物,而且是溫泉及間歇泉等令人難以置信的地質(zhì)奇觀的所在地。大棱鏡溫泉的美在于湖面的顏色隨季節(jié)而改變:由綠色到鮮紅再到橙色。由于富含礦物質(zhì)的水體中生活著的藻類和含色素的細(xì)菌等微生物,它們體內(nèi)的葉綠素和類胡蘿卜素的比例會(huì)隨季節(jié)變換而改變,于是溫泉水體也就呈現(xiàn)出不同的色彩。春季,湖面從綠色變?yōu)闋N爛的橙紅色。夏季,葉綠素含量相對(duì)較低,顯現(xiàn)橙色、紅色,或黃色。但到了冬季,由于缺乏光照,這些微生物就會(huì)產(chǎn)生更多的葉綠素來抑制類胡蘿卜素的顏色,于是就看到水體呈現(xiàn)深綠色。夕陽西下時(shí),在溫泉邊合適的位置合影留念是絕對(duì)不能錯(cuò)過的。
