一、AsthesymbolicfaceofendangeredspeciesinChina,thegiantpandahasmadesignificant

progressinrecentyears.Inthe1980s,onlyabout1,216pandaswereleftinthewild,butthe

southwesternChinatoprotectthem.GiantPandaNationalParkwillcover27,134square

kilometers,whichisnearlythreetimestheareaofYellowstoneNationalPark.Thenewparkwill

makeanefforttoreunitepopulationsthathavebecomeseparatedfromoneanother.

youngpandas,bodysizessuggestedthattwoofthemwereayearandahalfold,whiletheother

twowerealmost2yearsold.
