Createanewpython3.5condaenvironment.Thepythonversionisimportant,sincethepython-matlabbridge(packagepymatbridge)isonlyavailableforpython2.7,2.4and3.5.

Onwindows,usethecondashellthatcamewithyourminconda/anacondainstallation.Onlinux/macjusttheterminal(e.g.iterm).

Pleasemakesurethattheenvironmentisactivatedforthefollowingsteps.

Next,installthenecessarylibraries:jupyterforjupyternotebooks,metakernelatoolforjupyter/ipythonkernels,pymatbridgetoconnectmatlabandpythonandthematlab_kernelitself.Itisadvisibletousecondatoinstallpackages.Forjupytermetakernelpymatbridgethisispossible(weareusingpackagesfromtheconda-forgechannelinthiscase),butmatlab_kernelisnotmaintainedoncondaandneedstobeinstalledusingpip.
