英語四級(jí)考試中集庫式完形填空與選擇式完形填空的效度研究的開題報(bào)告Title:AStudyoftheValidityofClozeTestFormatsinCET-4Introduction:CET-4isastandardizedEnglishproficiencytestinChinathatiswidelyusedforuniversityadmissionsandjobapplications.Thetestconsistsoffoursections,includinglistening,reading,writing,andtranslating.Amongthem,thereadingsectionhastwosub-sections,oneofwhichisaclozetest.ThetraditionalformatoftheCET-4clozetestisthechoice-basedformat(i.e.,theselect-from-a-listformat).However,inrecentyears,anewformatcalledthebankedclozetest(i.e.,thefill-in-the-blankformat)hasbeenintroduced.ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatetheeffectivenessandvalidityofthesetwoclozetestformatsinCET-4.ResearchQuestions:1.Arethereanysignificantdifferencesbetweenthetwoclozetestformatsintermsofdifficultylevel,reliability,andvalidity?2.WhichofthetwoformatsismoreeffectiveinmeasuringEnglishproficiencyattheintermediatelevel?LiteratureReview:Thereareconflictingfindingsinpreviousstudiesregardingthevalidityandreliabilityofthetwoclozetestformats.Somestudiessuggestthatthebankedclozetestismorereliableandvalidthanthechoice-basedformat(Chang&Read,2007;Hu,2011),whileothersfoundnosignificantdifferencesbetweenthetwoformatsintermsofvalidityandreliability(Chen&Su,2006;Cheng&Wang,2011).However,nostudieshavebeenconductedtocomparethetwoformatsinCET-4.Methodology:Participants:Theparticipantswillbe200second-yearEnglishmajorsfromauniversityinChinawhohavetakenCET-4before.Design:Aquasi-experimentaldesignwillbeusedinthisstudy.Participantswillberandomlyassignedtooneofthetwotestgroups:thechoice-basedformatgroupandthebankedclozeformatgroup.Instruments:TheClozeTestBookletwillbeusedtomeasuretheparticipants'Englishproficiencyattheintermediatelevel.Thebookletwillconsistoftwosections:onewiththechoice-basedformatandonewiththebankedclozeformat.ThetestwillbeadaptedfromthepreviousCET-4exams.DataCollectionandAnalysis:ThedatawillbecollectedthroughtwosectionsoftheClozeTestBooklet,andtheresultswillbecomparedbetweenthetwoformatsintermsofdifficultylevel,reliability,andvalidity.Theresultswillbeanalyzedusingdescriptivestatistics,t-tests,andANOVA.PotentialSignificance:ThisstudywillprovideusefulinformationforEnglishlanguagetesters,testdevelopers,andeducatorsregardingtheeffectivenessandvalidityofthetwoclozetestformatsinCET-4.ThefindingsmayalsohelpimprovetheassessmentofEnglishproficiencyattheintermediatelevelandassistindevelopingbettertestingandteachingmaterials.Conclusion:Insummary,thisstudyaimstocomparetheeffectivenessandvalidityofthetwoclozetestformatsinCET-4.ThefindingsfromthisstudymaycontributetoabetterunderstandingoftheassessmentofEnglishproficiencyattheintermediatelevelandprovideguidanceforfuturetestingandteachingpractices.Reference:Chang,S.Y.&Read,J.(2007).Effectoftexttypeonpaired-formatclozetests:Banked-gapversustraditional.LanguageTesting,24(1),51-71.Chen,C.&Su,H.(2006).ComparativestudyoftwoclozetestformatsusingtheRaschmodelwithChineseexaminees.JournalofPan-PacificAssociationofAppliedLinguistics,10(1),159-173.Cheng,Y.&Wang,J.(2011).Comparingequivalenceoftwoclozetestformats:Textversussent
