III.Warmup(5minutes):

T:Askstudentstonametheirfavoriteanimalsandwhytheylikethem.Writedowntheanimalsontheboard.

IV.Presentation(10minutes):

1.T:Introducethetargetvocabularyofdescriptiveadjectives(e.g.,cute,friendly,scary,smart)usingflashcards.

2.Playtheaudiorecordingoftheconversationin1bandaskstudentstolistenandcircletheanimalsmentioned.

3.Reviewtheconversationandelicitanswerstothequestions:Whichanimaliscute?Whichanimalisscary?etc.

V.Practice(15minutes):

1.1a:Studentslookatthepicturesin1aandmatcheachanimalwiththecorrectadjective.Theythenchecktheiranswersinpairs.

2.1b:Studentslistenagaintotheaudiorecordingandpletethesentencesin1bwiththecorrectadjectives.Theyparetheiranswerswithapartner.

3.Pairwork:Studentstaketurnsdescribingananimalusingtheadjectivesin1a.Theirpartnertriestoguesswhichanimaltheyaredescribing.

4.Groupwork:Studentsworkingroupsoffour.Eachgroupchoosesananimalandcreatesashortconversationusingtheadjectivesandthesentencestructuresfromthelesson.Theythenpresenttheirconversationtotheclass.

VI.Production(10minutes):

T:Askstudentstoimaginetheyareatazooandtheyneedtogiveatourtoagroupofvisitors.Studentsworkinpairstocreateascriptfortheirtour,includingdescriptionsoftheanimalstheywillsee.Theythenpracticetheirscriptandpresentittotheclass.

VII.Wrapup(5minutes):

T:Recapthetargetvocabularyandsentencestructureslearnedinthelesson.Askstudentstoreflectonwhattheyenjoyedmostaboutthelessonandwhattheyfoundchallenging.
