6、u now has more than 3000 companies making branded clothing.杭州現(xiàn)在有3000家制造品牌服裝的公司。很顯然,“amusing”是用來說明“storyM, “readin敬在“room前說明 房間的功能,“talking to her ”用來限定“the maA是誰,而 “calleeJulia 用于說明 a sister ” 是誰。這里的-ing,或者-ed形式放在名詞的前后,對(duì)名詞進(jìn)行說明、修飾,我 們把-ing和-ed分詞的這種用法稱為分詞作定語。上面的例句中體現(xiàn)了分詞作定語的幾種不同的用法,下面我們來看這幾種情況的特點(diǎn)及應(yīng)用。1)

7、注意分詞的位置,通常單個(gè)的分詞作定語可以置于被修飾詞語之前, 而分詞短語作定語應(yīng)置于被修飾名詞之后。如:Eg: The school hired several retired teachers學(xué)校聘任了幾位 退休教師。There is a gentleman asking to see you.有一位先生要求 見你。She bought a computer produced in China.她買了臺(tái)中國生 產(chǎn)的電腦。2)現(xiàn)在分詞短語作定語,與所修飾的詞存在邏輯上的主動(dòng)關(guān)系,表示該 動(dòng)作正在進(jìn)行。Eg: The boy looking at the picture is my brothe

8、r.We met a group of pupils returning from school. They built a highway leading to the mountains.3)過去分詞作定語,與所修飾的詞存在邏輯上的被動(dòng)關(guān)系,表示該動(dòng)作 已經(jīng)完成。Eg: I heard the door opened.He found the house burned down.The letter posted today will reach him the day after tomorrow. 比較:the falling leaves the fallen leaves boil
