21、onversations. Step III Listening (1b)Point at the numbered list of words and play the recording. Ask the students to listen to the recording and circle the countries in 1a. T: You are going to hear a conversation. In the conversation, the people talk about their pen pals. Listen to the recording. Yo
22、ull have to circle the countries in 1a you hear. Play the recording.T: Well now, answer my questions. What countries are there in the conversation? S2: There are Canada, Australia, Japan and Sing-apore. Ask the students to listen to and repeat after the recording and then check the answers. Step IV
23、Pairwork (1c)Ask the students to work in pairs and read the conversations in 1a. T: Now work in pairs and read the conversations in 1a with your partner. Step Talk about countries and cities Ask the students to work in pairs, talking about the
36、cities and the countries. T: Now work in pairs and ask where the city is. For example, the first student asks “Where is Beijing?”, the second answers “Its in China.”Sample dialogues:1. 39、of countries and cities in 2a.T: Now lets look at the list of countries and cities in Activity 2a. I will ask some students to read them aloud to the class. Then ask them to listen to the tape and circle the cities and countries. T: Now you are going to hear some conversations about cities and count
40、ries. Circle the cities and countries you hear on the recording.Check the answers. Further activity: Ask the students to do some pairwork if they can understand the listening material well. If not, ask them to listen again; for those who have great difficulty, let them read the original text first,
41、then try to listen again. Repeat the process, if necessary. T: Now repeat after the recording. Girls repeat the questions, boys the answers. A sample: Girls: (repeat after the recording) Wheres your pen pal from, John?Boys: (repeat after the recording) Hes from Japan. .Change the roles and practice
42、again. Then ask them to say the conversation without the help of the recording. Call the students attention to the chart in 2c. Tell the students to listen to the conversations again to complete the chart.T: Now lets listen to the dialogues again and complete the chart. And Tokyo is the sample answe
43、r. (Point out the place in the chart where the students will write the answer) Write in the names of the cities and countries after the three persons names. Check the answers and ask the students to repeat the conversations after the recording. Step Pairwork (2d)Ask the students to read the conversa
44、tion in the bubble. Then ask them to talk about the information in the chart in 2c. A sample dialogue:S1: Where is your pen pal from, Jodie?S2: Shes from France. S1: So, where does she live?S2: Oh, she lives in Paris. Then ask the students to work in groups and make up new dialogues with their own i
