1、 As we all know, Wuzhen is an ancient town with a long history and a profound cultural backgroung .I will introduce Wuzhen from the following 5 parts: Locations and history;travel in Wuzhen ; customs in WuZhen; People inWuZhen; Traditional Specialties in Wuzhen.1. Locations and history （烏鎮(zhèn)的位置和區(qū)位） Wu

2、zhen was originaly named Wu Dun（烏墩） and Qing Shu（青墩）, located in the northern of Tongxiang( 桐鄉(xiāng)) City ,in Zhejiang Province ,faces Huzhou（湖州） City on the west and Wujiang（吳江） County on the north of Suzhou city in Jiangsu Province.it is a ancient town with 6000 years history, which is a typical Jiangn

3、an style and pattern ancient town, known as “the land of plenty , silk of the House”. 2. travel in Wuzhen（游在烏鎮(zhèn)）There are many famous sites for tourists to travel, such as the former dwelling of Maodun ,the ancient stage ,the area of east gate ,the area of west gate ,Wenchang hall ,the wood carving g

4、allery of Jiangnan ,and so on. But in my opinion, I think the old house ,the old bridge ,the old street are more charming .Because the can best interpret the characteristics of Wuzhen very well.Wuzhen is famous for its residences(住宅) ， built along the rivers, dating from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911

5、), and the town keeps its ancient atmosphere, as if time has stood still .The town, with its black tiled（tald鋪瓦） and timber（'tmb(r)木材） framework houses, contrasts sharply with its white walls and gray flagging（ 'flæg石板路）, bringing to mind a Chinese ink and wash w painting（中國水墨畫）. A smal

6、l river which was once the main means of transportation for local people ,runs throughout the whole town with water for street. On both sides of the shore, housing constructions all face to the river, forming a watery charming scenery.The morning of Wuzhen starts with women washing clothes by the cl

7、ear river and black wooden windows propped up. In watery town, bridge is extremely usual landscape. One of the most extraordinary sites in Wuzhen is the “Bridge in Bridge”(橋中橋) created by two ancient bridges, one of which is Tongji（通濟(jì)） Bridge crossing the river from east to west and the other is cal

8、led Renji （仁濟(jì)）Bridge running from south to north and joining the former at one end. Either of two bridges can be seen through the arch（拱門） of the other, hence got the name.The old street is preserved well and local people will touch it everyday. People inWuZhen（烏鎮(zhèn)的名人大家）Wuzhen has brought forth many famous people，F(xiàn)rom one thousand years ago, the earliest Chinese editor of collecting poetry - Prince Liang Zhaoming（梁昭明太子）, the earliest Chinese Editor of town records- Shen Ping（沈平）, During the Song

13、, Ming, Qing Dynasty, Wuzhen has nearly two hundred Juren（舉人）, jinshi（進(jìn)士）. In Modern time , literature master-Mao Dun, political activist- Shen Zemin（沈澤民）, banker-Lu Xuepu（盧學(xué)溥）, cartoonist- Feng Zikai（豐子愷）. They went out from Wuzhen, have a broad and bright mind. Their names, like the vast starry（ &

14、#39;st:r閃閃發(fā)光的 ）sky. They are the best interpretation of the sentence "the same town, not the same as Wuzhen"（一樣的古鎮(zhèn)，不一樣的烏鎮(zhèn)） To some extent , the fame of Wuzhen can be attributed to Mao Dun（矛盾）, a great modern writer and the first cultural minister of the People's Republic. Born in Wuzhe

15、n, Mao has described the town with great warmth in several of his novels, and his former dwelling is preserved （pr'z:vd） here.5.
