1、龜兔賽跑新傳 (根據(jù)海外版本東北大區(qū)市場推廣部修改) Once upon a time a tortoise and a hare had an argument about who was faster. They decided to settle the argument with a race. They agreed on a route and started off the race.從前,有一只烏龜和一只兔子在互相爭辯誰跑得快。他們決定來一場比賽分高下,選定了路線,就此起跑。 The hare shot ahead and ran briskly for some time.
2、Then seeing that he was far ahead of the tortoise, he thought hed sit under a tree for some time and relax before continuing the race.兔子帶頭沖出,奔馳了一陣子,眼看它已遙遙領(lǐng)先烏龜,心想,它可以在樹下坐一會兒,放松一下,然后再繼續(xù)比賽。 He sat under the tree and soon fell asleep. The tortoise plodding on overtook him and soon finished the race, eme
3、rging as the undisputed champ.兔子很快地在樹下就睡著了,而一路上笨手笨腳走來的烏龜則超越過它,不一會兒完成比賽,成為貨真價實的冠軍。 The hare woke up and realized that hed lost the race. The moral of the story is that slow and steady wins the race.等兔子一覺醒來,才發(fā)覺它輸了。這個故事給我們的啟示是:緩慢且持續(xù)的人會贏得比賽。 This is the version of the story that weve all grown up with.這
4、是從小伴隨我們長大的龜兔賽跑故事的版本 。 But then recently, someone told me a more interesting version of this story. It continues.但最近有人告訴了我一個更有趣的版本。故事這么連續(xù)下去。 The hare was disappointed at losing the race and he did some Defect Prevention (Root Cause Analysis). He realised that hed lost the race only because he had bee
5、n overconfident, careless and lax. 兔子當(dāng)然因輸了比賽而倍感失望,為此他做了些缺失預(yù)防工作(根本原因解析)。它很清楚,失敗是因它太有信心,大意,以及散漫。 If he had not taken things for granted, theres no way the tortoise could have beaten him. So he challenged the tortoise to another race. The tortoise agreed.如果它不是認(rèn)為一切都是理所當(dāng)然的,烏龜是不可能打敗它的。因此,它單挑烏龜再來另一場比賽,而烏龜也

Fast and consistent will always beat the slow and steady. 這故事有什么啟示?動作快且前后一致的人將可勝過緩慢且持續(xù)的人。 If you have two people in your organization, on
7、e slow, methodical and reliable, and the other fast and still reliable at what he does, the fast and reliable chap will consistently climb the organisational ladder faster than the slow, methodical chap.如果在你的工作單位有兩個人,一個緩慢,按部就班,且可靠,另一個則是動作快,且辦事還算牢靠,那么動作快且牢靠的人會在組織中一直往上升,升遷的速度比那緩慢且按部就班辦事的人快。 Its good t
8、o be slow and steady; but its better to be fast and reliable.緩慢且持續(xù)固然很好,但動作快且牢靠則更勝一籌。 But the story doesnt end here. The tortoise did some thinking this time, and realised that theres no way he can beat the hare in a race the way it was currently formatted. 這故事還沒結(jié)束。這下輪到烏龜要好好檢討,它很清楚,照目前的比賽方法,它不可能擊敗兔子。
9、 He thought for a while, and then challenged the hare to another race, but on a slightly different route.它想了一會兒,然后單挑兔子再來另一場比賽,但是是在另一條稍微不同的路線上。 The hare agreed. They started off. In keeping with his self-made commitment to be consistently fast, the hare took off and ran at top speed until he came to

In the meantime the tortoise trundled along, got into the river, swam to the opposite b

Working to your strengths wil

Both realized that the last race could have been run much better.這下子,兔子和烏龜成了惺惺相惜的好朋友。它們一起檢討,兩個都很清楚,在上一次的比賽中,它們可以表現(xiàn)得更好。 So they decided to do the last race again, but to run as a team this time.所以,他們決定再賽一場,但這次是同隊合作。 They started off, and this time the hare carried the tortoise till the ri

There, the tortoise took over and swam across with the hare on his back. 它們一起出發(fā),這次可是兔子扛著烏龜,直到河邊。在那里,烏龜接手,背著兔子過河。 On the opposite bank, the hare again carried the tortoise and they reached the finishing line together. They both felt a greater sense of satisfaction than theyd felt earlier.到了河

Its good to be individually brilliant and to have strong core competencies; but unless youre able to work in a team and harness each others core competencies, youll always perform below par because there will always be situations at w

The hare decided to work harder and put in more effort after his failure.我們看到,在遭遇失敗后,兔子和烏龜都沒有就此放棄。兔子決定更加勤奮,并且投入更多的努力。The tortoise c
19、hanged his strategy because he was already working as hard as he could. In life, when faced with failure, sometimes it is appropriate to work harder and put in more effort. 在盡了全力之后,烏龜則選擇改變策略。在人的一生中,當(dāng)失敗臨頭時,有時我們需更加努力。 Sometimes it is appropriate to change strategy and try something different. And some
20、times it is appropriate to do both.有時則需改變策略,嘗試不同的抉擇。有時候,兩者都要一起來。 The hare and the tortoise also learnt another vital lesson.
