I have known Mr. Caleb for more than 6 years since his freshman year at University of Minnesota. At that time, he took the course- Mathematical Analysis, which I taught mainly
2、for junior students majoring in Mathematics. To my surprise, I found he was among the few students in his class who could keep up with the pace of my lectures. Moreover, he often posed thought-provoking questions during the course. Thus it was natural that I liked discussing with this young man and
3、became familiar with him. The more I knew him, the more I found he was talented at mathematics. As you can see, he got excellent scores on the course. In fact, he ranked No. 1 on this 270 hours course in the talented student class which has 34 intelligent others. With his outstanding talent and soli
4、d mathematical background, he also did quite well in most other courses during his undergraduate study. By the way, you may wonder why his undergraduate scores look not so good compared to other Chinese applicants. It is easy to explain, because he belonged to the talented student class, which were
5、required to endure harder test papers and stricter grading than most other college students did at least at University of Minnesota. He even served as Prof. Linda s Research Assistant for one year. No one could deny his commitment to his job. As a matter of fact, Prof. Lindas electronic lab happened
6、 to be neighboring my office and I could always see him working in the lab, either repairing the instruments or helping Prof. Linda collect lab reports. Maybe one more example will demonstrate his commitment more clearly. Once he suggested compiling a FORTRAN program to solve a complicated circuit p
7、roblem in his class. In order to do that, he had to do a lot of computer work. However, because there were few computers available in our computer lab, he had to wake up at 5 a.m. in winter (please note: Twin city is a downtown near the north border of China, so it is pretty cold in winter and the h
8、eating system is not working very well.) to ensure the 1st position of the long waiting line for his classmates and himself! At last he and his classmates finished the program successfully with his great efforts. As to his personality, I would like to say Mr. Caleb is a warm-hearted, honest and upri
9、ght student. He was always ready to help others. During my lectures, many students got confused at some points and I could always see Mr. Caleb help them explain during breaks. In the meanwhile, I must admit that Mr. Caleb was a bit impatient sometimes. Finally, I would like to conclude my recommend
10、ation as follows: frankly, Mr. Caleb is not a genius, but I promise his great intelligence, commitment to work and his kind nature will impress you deeply. 11、y Yours, 香港留學(xué)就業(yè)形勢 考到港大的學(xué)生當中,不少是來自中國的邊遠山區(qū)的,他們在港大讀書很勤奮,很多人都曾在大學(xué)時代獲得了外國交互生的機會,見識了大城市的新鮮事物,眼界大增。而在暑假一般能夠在香港或者外國的好公司獲得實習(xí)機會,晉升了競爭力。到了最后常常能夠在香港找到一份好工作。事實上,由于內(nèi)地生都是過關(guān)斬將才來到香港的高校,他們底子好,是百里挑一的人才。而去到港校以后,內(nèi)地學(xué)生因為勤奮,所以成績特別好。香港高校有純熟的就業(yè)培訓(xùn)過程,例如教學(xué)生寫求職信、模擬面試等,所有的扶助課程都是公開劃一,不分彼此。內(nèi)地生通常都特別活躍,并且很主動地了解就業(yè)的事情,所以不需要為他們“度身訂制”就業(yè)服
12、務(wù)。 內(nèi)地學(xué)生在香港大學(xué)主要選擇財經(jīng)、金融、經(jīng)濟等專業(yè)就讀,因此他們畢業(yè)后進入財經(jīng)金融等單位工作的比率特別高。根據(jù)統(tǒng)計,內(nèi)地畢業(yè)生在港就業(yè)平均起薪達1.5萬1.9萬元。 從留港工作的學(xué)生來看,九成內(nèi)地本科生都選擇留港工作,而內(nèi)地研究生留港的比率也達到了七成五。 遵照香港教育部門的規(guī)劃,未來香港可以容納非本地學(xué)生20%,估計之后8%10%是來自內(nèi)地的,香港人原來的升大比率就不高,這樣本地人和內(nèi)地優(yōu)秀學(xué)生競爭將更強。 總體來說,香港的工資是內(nèi)地的三倍以上,并且消費水平也是這樣。一般大學(xué)生在這里工作,一個月是一萬塊錢左右,按消費購買力來算,這其實很多年輕人想?yún)⒓庸ぷ?,這個選擇還是不錯的,盡管環(huán)境有壓力,但是這個絕對值很大。如果你想創(chuàng)業(yè)香港是一個的環(huán)境。 香港學(xué)校特色 香港大學(xué):香港大學(xué)位列香港各大學(xué)排名之首。用英文上課,理工科目使用北美最新的教材,能給學(xué)生營造良好的國際化氛圍。 香港教育學(xué)院:提供學(xué)前、小學(xué)及中學(xué)教育三個層面的教師培訓(xùn)及教師進修課程。 香港理工大學(xué):以課程實用性強為主,開辦設(shè)計學(xué)、職業(yè)治療學(xué)、眼科視光學(xué)、國際航運及物流管理、土地測量學(xué)等課程,同時又與多所海外知名大學(xué)辦學(xué)生交換計劃。 香港城市大學(xué):創(chuàng)意媒體學(xué)院,則開辦不少有關(guān)多媒體制作的課程。 內(nèi)地院校預(yù)修一年
