33、2 Appliance v4.0.x Software Image Installation Using Mobile Build Server.OverviewThis guide provides instructions on how to upload a new version of the VxRail software image to a VxRail Gen2 appliance. This process uses a mobile build server, which is a portable virtual machine that runs on a laptop

34、 using VMware Workstation (Windows) or VMware Fusion (Mac). The build server contains the VxRail software image, and the code instructions to upload the image to each node. This process requires dedicated and isolated network connectivity between the build server and each of the VxRail nodes in the

35、appliance.This Procedure is destructive and will permenantly erase all data on the appliance. Prior to using this procedure to upgrade an VxRail Appliance, All customer data must be backed up or migration off the appliance.This process includes these major milestones in order to assure a successful

36、upgrade:All the planning and preparation steps are completed before performing the upgrade.Physical network connectivity is established between the uild Server and all of the VxRail nodes.Connectivity to the Build Server web interface is established.The VxRail software update completes successfully.

37、The updated VxRail appliance is re-configured. Verify all required pre-requisites have been metThe required pre-requisites are listed on the VxRail Upgrade Pre-Requisites tab within the VxRail Pre-Upgrade Migration Site Checklist.
