Thisis…意為“這是……”（指離說話人較近的人或物），thatis…意為“那是……”（離說話人較遠(yuǎn)的人或物）是一個用來介紹他人的常用句型。當(dāng)介紹在場在第三人時，常用句型Thisis…/Thatis…，一般不直接說Heis...或Sheis...。如：ThisismyauntMary.

代詞he，she，it都屬第三人稱單數(shù)形式的人稱代詞。它們的復(fù)數(shù)形式是they，譯為“他們、她們或它們?！痹趯?shí)際應(yīng)用中，he，she，it及they常用來代替前面所提到的名詞。在句子中作主語。1）he用來代替單數(shù)男性，如：aboy，Mr.Wang，Jim等。2）she用來代替單數(shù)女性，如：agirl，Mrs.Wang，MissGao，Kate等。3）it用來代替動物或無生命的事物，如：acat(貓)，abird(鳥)，abike，anorange等。
