北京威久留學(xué)專家張宏：推薦信可能是所有申請文件中最為重要的一項。推薦信的篇幅一般英文成稿約為300~400字。推薦信最忌諱寫成類似中國教師給學(xué)生寫的評語，每個人都適用。面面俱到，詳略不當(dāng)也是不可取的。此外評價亦忌太過夸張，好似申請人的現(xiàn)有程度已經(jīng)不需要任何進(jìn)修或?qū)ι暾埲说倪^度吹捧使推薦人本身的層次和程度大打折扣。

推薦信寫作應(yīng)注意以下幾點：推薦人最好選擇自己的授課或論文指導(dǎo)教師。當(dāng)然假設(shè)能找到大學(xué)招生負(fù)責(zé)人都認(rèn)可或熟知的推薦人更好，如國際知名學(xué)者教授等。假設(shè)申請人是普通學(xué)生而選擇職位很高的推薦人〔如學(xué)校校長〕，應(yīng)該解釋清楚推薦人是怎樣理解到申請人的。同時在第一段就應(yīng)介紹清楚推薦人和申請人的關(guān)系。

推薦信的核心還是應(yīng)該和申請人的學(xué)業(yè)成績和學(xué)術(shù)才能嚴(yán)密相關(guān)，應(yīng)注意與所申請專業(yè)的結(jié)合。如申請管理類課程，勿用大量篇幅描寫輔修計算機的成績，反之亦然。推薦信在提出申請人優(yōu)點時，應(yīng)防止泛泛而談，最好附以詳細(xì)事例，當(dāng)然有數(shù)據(jù)支持更有說服力。如：排名10/200〔200人中前10名〕，多少天完成實驗，成功率如何。另外推薦教師如為論文或畢業(yè)設(shè)計指導(dǎo)教師，可提及論文或畢設(shè)大致情況，來說明被推薦人的研究或理論才能。

申請人其他方面的優(yōu)點，如團(tuán)隊精神，開朗性格、品質(zhì)、對科學(xué)研究的執(zhí)著等也可簡單提及作為補充內(nèi)容，這些是要求一個研究者必備的素質(zhì)。
